The Departed didn't win Best Screenplay(original), it won Best Adapted Screenplay as far as I can remember.
The guy who said the films can't be that similar, go watch the original. It's worth seeing and it is very similar. 'Remake' for legal reasons my ass
I didn't think they were too similar. I mean, they had their differences, which made them both worth watching. But yes, you could definitely tell The Departed was a remake of IA.

^^^That was an old headline from Jan.
And yes, other than comedy I can't see any point to cranberry juice.

I'd agree, I personally thought it was funny when he smashed the glass of juice on the guy's face, after the guy asked Costigan if "He was on his period."

i found nothing especially interesting in this movie. I felt as though i had seen it before and better versions. Aviator and gangs were far better flicks for marty

Finally saw it.
Best Picture??? Does bloody violence and murder equal "good" all of a sudden?
The academy are a bunch of boobs..."well, we gotta give him best picture..."
Even Martin must have been like "what the...did you guys even see my other movies?"
...having said that, it's an ok film...if not for anything...for Jack.

the whole movie was great, i loved every second of it, jack wasn't the best bit of this movie either, it was the whole cast and the story, it made my jaw drop and i loved it, and I'm not a huge Martin fan.
