The purpose of these teams is to face number 1 on one side to number 1 on the other, like Revan vs. Starkiller. You must determine who wins in their honor duel, and find out which team has the bigger portion of survivors--that's how you determine the winning team.
Revan vs Starkiller = Revan.

Savage vs BS = BS.
SS vs AS = SS.
Vader vs Mace = Vader.
MI vs MU = MI.

I love how everybody always says Yoda would lose to Sidious.
They are equal. Yoda was winning the duel in the Senate chamber until he was knocked down to the floor. Sidious just had better luck. Not to mention clones on the way -.-
Seriously, if Yoda had stayed, without his lightsaber (as Sidious was, however) the clones would have just shot him.

I have. Though when you watch the movies, (which are a higher form of canon, and therefore take precedence) Yoda was winning. Sidious was being forced back repeatedly, and Yoda matched him in the standoff with lightning.
Plus, you can see clones in a scene shortly afterwards searching for Yoda, meaning they were on the way.
It slipped my mind earlier, but Sidious also tried to run away.
During the stalemate, Yoda was coming out on top, as he had forced Sidious back yet again.
He could not find a handhold on the central pillar, however, and so fell to the floor. The clones were coming, so he left. That is not a, "loss" that is, "I can't die here if the Jedi are to survive"
