Did Canderous improve enough to the point he could stand against his former leader?

Oh, I know that. But there are a few things.
1. He never actually got to duel Mandalore.
2. Some significant time has passed, so I don't know if he's still inferior.
The way Ordo talks about it, he makes it sound as if the difference between them is slight in KOTOR.

Ordo declared the Ultimate as the undisputed champion of the Mandalorians, really.
Also, during the time of Jango Fett, the Ultimate is regarded as the greatest of Mandalore's, not Ordo.
