Yeah this has been around for awhile. Would've added more weight. It also would've helped with the entire problem of Anakin going full Vader in the blink of an eye.
I always believed that having Anakin be enraged during Knightfall, so it seems like it was blind hate rather than a choice, and then having major doubts once he is calmed down by Padme. Then he leaves for Mustafar because there is no going back for him, there he has a major rage vent on the seps which tips over with the following 'plot' by Padme and Kenobi to stop him. After he snaps on them, you see him visibly conflicted by what he is doing during the fight, but each time he almost backs down, he remembers the vision of Padme dying. Then he loses because of the distraction.
Then that 'help me' dialogue happens, like it's the last time we see the real Anakin. The last chance he had to prevent the inevitable. Kenobi's final rejection pushes him so far into rage that when the burning happens, all that's left is Vader. Which makes his change from conflicted fallen hero to dedicated, ruthless Sith Lord, much more believable.
