Even when Thrawn came into the picture, that just made things worse. I get it that it was for fan service, but narratively...why send a ****ing Grand Admiral...THE Grand Admiral to deal with a Rebel cell? They could have easily put in Captain Piett who by all accounts given he ends up Admiral of Vader's personal fleet and the Executor, should be enough.

Also they try to excuse Thrawn's losses in this show by him saying he has some bigger plan, or he allowed to happen...but honestly doing it so many times I wasn't buying it all that much.

The TIE Defender....what a complete waste this was, only in for a few episodes, ship is destroyed by something it should have been able to destroy easy and the project halted completely because...unique fuel or some stupid reasoning. Also the pilot was a stupid hypocrite, says to follow orders in one episode...goes onto completely ignore his superior.

Rukh the Noghri Assassin. ......First impressions and he failed hard. Even later he wasn't much.

1.) It was explained that Admiral Konstantine had tried, and failed, to handle the Rebel cell on Lothal. Thrawn was brought in by Tarkin at the special request of Pryce to not only handle the insurgents on Lothal, but deal with the entire Rebellion as a whole.

2.) Tbf, Thrawn's only true losses in his entire time with the Empire were the battle of Atollon(due to the Bendu's direct intervention), and the final battle of Lothal(due to Ezra summoning the Purrgil behind the scenes.) Not trying to make excuses for Thrawn, but there was really no way for a non-force sensitive to have contingencies in place for force-related randomness like that. Thrawn himself admitted that "the mysteries of the force were an enigma to [him]." As they should be.

3.) The Defenders themselves were vastly superior to any other type of fighters in the Empire -- this is driven home multiple times in Alliances, for example, and also why Palpatine felt that the need for them was of =/> importance than the Death Star project itself. The fact that the entire fuel supply for the Defenders was kept in a single yard on Lothal, however, was indeed stupid.

4.) Yeah, wasn't much of a Rukh fan either. He was given some redemption in Alliances as well, but still not enough to make him enjoyable.

I'd put it more due to plot rather than force related shenanigans...but meh. Cause in more than a few episodes, you can blatantly see plot armor.

Who the frack is Admiral Constantine?? That's another thing, I can't remember any characters aside from the main crew and the OT/Legends people, all of the others were just forgettable frankly.

Oh, they were undoubtedly cases of plot induced stupidity. But from an in-universe POV, that's why Thrawn has those losses.

Admiral Konstantine was that douchey looking officer who was introduced in Rebels:

He met his end in the season 3 finale when he disregarded Thrawn's orders at the battle of Atollon and broke ranks.

Ah, I really can’t even remember him. Didn’t even know he was an Admiral.

@Zenwolf

I see. Bad decisions early on, lots of bad content, and simply the overall story they told not making sense. Thanks.

I am surprised that Snoke is part of it.

*Looks like this is set immediately after Maul's 2017 mini. Glad we're getting more on the history of Malachor as well. thumb up

This "preview" hews very closely to the other Maul comic. Hopefully it'll strike new ground.

I want to see more Jabba!

Crime lords always make the story.

They should use this Jabba material to reveal more about Jabba’s grandparents, Mama the Hutt and her husband.

I mean, we know he doesn't kill her, so there are only a few other possibilities here...

That was my first impression as well.

I do want the happenings on Malachor during the Jedi/Sith war to be explored, but aside from that I'd like to get something fresh. Unfortunately, It'll probably just be a rehash of the previous Maul works. Meh.

I imagine it'll just be similar to the Jedi: Mace Windu fight, but longer. I still wish we could get a proper Dooku vs Windu duel though, or Anakin vs Grievous. Something new at least.

I'd honestly like to get some material that details Dooku's history when he was a Jedi. That era of his past is criminally unexplored.
