What is the biggest, most famous (In universe) event?
Out of Universe it's obviously the Galactic Civil War, but in the Star Wars universe, which (war, change...) would be the most famed? I'm guessing either the Rise of the Empire or the Vong War. The Clone War, the Galactic Civil War, the Mandalorian War or the great Hyperspace war were pretty damn noteworthy though.
The birth and death of Count Dooku. A time of great celebration with his first breath and a time of great mourning at his passing. He did so much for the SW galaxy!!
1. The Battle of Endor.
2. The Battle of Corbos.
3. The duel between Luke Skywalker and Emperor Palpatine...a battle for the fate of the Force itself.
4. Order 66.
5. The battle of Coruscant/Yuuzhan'tar, culminating in the battle between Luke and Shimrra.
6. The liberation of Coruscant, Rogue Squadron vs. Ysanne Isard
7. The Wedding of Luke Skywalker and Mara Jade.
1. The Declaration of a New Order.
2. The Destruction of the Death Star.
3. The Battle of Endor.
4. The Declaration of the Alliance to Restore the Republic.
5. The Battle between Luke and Palpatine (all of them).
6. The Battle of Bilbrigi (sp?) and Thrawn's death.
I'm not completely familiar with NJO other than for a few standard facts, so I dunno. x.x
Thrawn's death was actually pretty obscure...certainly not massive and all consuming like Endor...most didn't even know why the attack had been called off for a while
It was highly significant. Aside from Palpatine and the Vong, Thrawn was the greatest threat that the New Republic had. Consider: he was soundly defeating them with less than a quarter of the Imperial Starfleet. Had he succeeded at Bilbrigi (sp?) then his campaign would have succeeded.
Thrawn was the Empire's second chance at survival and domination.
the battle of yavin. it started a whole new era. it is like the birth of jesus christ. you can try to compare to it but there is nothing to compare. BBY was before yavin and ABY was after. you dont see BBC (before the battle of coruscant) or BGS (Before the great schism).
