Did ani do the best he could
understanding the dark lord had set up to get to where he was, being that he was in control of the clone army, he controlled the senate, courts and anything political with courasant, he had the power to take on any jedi master in the order, even if ani was to side with the light side and the jedi, it would have been extremely difficult to defeat the sith and the obsticles the emporer had set up. i think that if ani had stayed in the counsel chambers and the intergalactic civil war had broken out that it would have been an uphill battle for the entire order.
these threads have had the opinion that mace would have been defeated by palps anyway had ani not showed up. if that would have happened order 66 would still have occured and a countless number of clones would have assaulted the temple.
would getting on sidious's good side and eventually betraying him be the best way to "save the galaxy"
i hate to start two debates in one thread but does anyone think would have happened if ani had beaten obi and how would his relationship with padme have ended up. would he have tried to seduce her to the dark side or how would it have ended up.

If Anakin killed Obi-Wan, Padmé would still have died of a broken heart as in the film. Yoda and Bail would take care of the twins. But the problem is how could Luke get to Yoda to be trained without Obi-Wan? I guess that Artoo would help Luke with that, cause Artoo's wipe isn't mind, I mean his mind isn't wiped! He lured Luke to Obi-Wan so Artoo would lure Luke to Yoda.
