Kinda looks like a rather poor design of a headcrab from Half-Life but it's still hair nonetheless.

Just seems very oddly shaped for hair is all.
From some angles it almost looks like a black cap he is wearing, the ends pointed.
I can see the blend into his natural hair but I have also seen drawings of the character with him wearing a black hat.
I'm not entirely sure why I care so much about this.
