She didn't look like she either approved or disapproved of Anakin's actions involving the Sand people.
Which is why I suppose we are all discussing this, I personally think Padme was suprised that Anakin did that, and didn't approve of it. I think considering the circumstances the couple was in and the death of Anakin's mom, (not to mention the galaxy on the brink of civil war) Padme had far more important things to worry about.
I suppose, but believing in Democracy really doesn't necessarily indicate her views towards Anakin slaughtering the sand people. I think she really "let it go" fast because what was really happening to the Republic was way more important to her.
I doubt she also had a real education or idea about the sand people, as she was only told of how bad they were by the old Lars. The fact of what they did to Shmi also doesn't help.
I think with those in mind they really didn't bother to think about it much.
Which is odd. Because her whole attitude was achieving freedom for all species by means of democracy. Slaughtering any sentient life form would go against everything she stands for. Heck, she wouldn't even "condone a course of action that would lead to war" as her own pplant was in danger. But she would condone a massacre on an emotional rant? No way, Jose.
I never said she would condone it. I believe she just had other things on her mind and didn't care because she was thinking about more important problems.
Sometimes in times when greater problems are present or seemingly imminent, other would-be problems on a slightly lower lever may not matter as much to some people.
Oh, my boyfriend the best Jedi ever just slaughtered a whole village and thought it was okay? Yeah, maybe I should have looked into that more, but I was kinda busy with other things... like...errrr...errr.... oh yeah that weird attempt on my life for which I have fled to the most remote planet of the universe to get some peace of mind.
considering how lousy the lovestory was in the movie, it is no surprise she would change her mind all the time.
She was always the secondary character anyway...
