A: The woman's dead.
B: Knowledge is power, if Anakin gets spoon-fed knowledge, he'll tear Palpatine to shreds at the first possible moment.

It's not that, it's just that the Jedi train their students into the "If the enemy speaks out against you, make them see whose better" routine. Thus, Anakin, acting on his Jedi training, strictly enforced this rule. I think Gunray was rolling in his grave at that point.
