That is a fencing grip sword and, as such, is a BETTER handle than the straight ones on most sabres!
There have been numerous conversations about this... but I can't remember where.

I couldn't get the Clone facilities pic to work though, but Dooku's makes a nice wallpaper for the office.
I love the way Dooku handles that sabre in the trailer.
