I saw a fan fiction called "Dark Knight" of a few years back and in that Padme gets taken to alderaan with bail and she eventually dies of a broken heart. I thought it had a lot of meaning with her dieing like that. And plus, the novel ended just after that with Darth Vader feeling Padme die and him saying "Now there is only the dark side". Quite cool really.
I know where you're coming from with the tragic side of things Darth Jello but I think a broken heart would be sadder still, not horrific.
I like the last line of that novel DarthDavid. See, that's how I've always viewed their love; she keeps him sane, calmed etc. I'm not too sure how to explain it so...yeah...
its simple people, and this is the truth, AKA SPOILER, anakin kills padme for some reason after padme has luke and liea. The screen pans to see Obi-Wan delivering the little baby Luke to the Lars. Then you see palpatine talking to anakin after being reborn as vader in the suit after being stuck down by his master, Obi-Wan. he asks, What happened to padme and palpatine states "You killed her" he gives out a yell, "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" and the that is the end of the movie. Not nowing that he has a daughetr, leia. Happy now?

Yeah nice one Lyn. It said in the novel, just after Darth Vader was christened, it said he was living a lie and that he wanted to turn back somehow. After she died, he just completely gave in and said that line "Now there is only the dark side" and that "I must serve my master".
I must say, i think Palp/sidious brainwashed Anakin into going into the Dark Side and that only Padme kept him from slipping all the way down the rabbit hole if you know what i mean.
See, that's EXACTLY how I've always viewed it. She kept him on the "light" side. That's perhaps why, if the council or Yoda knew, they did not act because of the way she calmed him. Then, when she is gone, he would feel utterly lost. The two most important people in his life, his mother and his wife, would be gone.
I know 100% How Padme dies. This is not lie or is not made up. Here's how it goes.
Anakin is out an about, anyway, he tells Padme he is going to Mustafar, a lava planet to kill the remaining seperatist. After he leaves, Obi Wan shows up and talks to Padme wanting to know where Anakin went. Padme tells Obi-Wan Anaking went to Mustafar. Obi-Wan decides he'll go to Mustafar to talk with Anakin who is merging with the Dark Side. Padme insist that she goes with Obi-Wan but Obi-Wan rejects. Anyway, Padme is able to hide in Obi-Wans ship as they head for Mustafar without Obi-Wan sensing this (why I have no idea since the force should have told him Padme was there). Anyway, Obi-wan arrives on Mustafar with Padme hiding. Obi-Wan discovers that Anakin has killed the seperatist. The two begin to argue. Then Padme shows up believing that she can help them both. Anakin is furious that Padme told and lead Obi-Wan right to him. As a result, Anakin becomes angry, loses self control and then force chokes Padme. Padme hits her head as she falls to the ground. Then the legendary Obi-Wan vs. Anakin duel begins. Meanwhile, Padme is aided, but suffers serious damages from the force choke and from her head after she hits it badley. The twins must be removed before she dies. The twins are removed, and Padme dies from her injuries.

I just have to say, that I am not certain how she dies. I am wondering if she gets shot while fighting, since she does have a tendency to get embroiled in large battles. But I also have to state, that I CAN'T STAND IT when people claim that she dies because Anakin "FORCE CHOKES HER". For Sith's sake....who made THAT lulu up? That's the stupidest thing Ive ever heard! PLEASE don't let it be true! It's just stupid!
But then, I also thought that about midichlorians...but gosh darn it, it IS true! Goes to show you never can tell! lol
Sorry Sith Master X but Supershadow is has no friends especially not ones called George Lucas. His site is a big fraud. There is more chance of Iraq's WMD turning up than something on SS being true!

Yeah, GL has done a lot of stuff in the prequals that I'm not happy with, but if Anakin kill Padme with a "force choke" that'll suck! She deserves a lot better send off than that, C'mon.....reguardless of what is said in ROTJ I for one would like to see her live, don't think it's gonna happen, but wishful thinking...She's just so Hot! If she does die, I definitely don't want some lame choke!

In the OT, we were all under the impression/were told that Luke's father died. Maybe PADME dies "from a certain point of view". In reality, she probably survives the Clone Wars, gives her children up to keep them safe, and goes off to some backwater planet and becomes a Walmart Greeter. That's my theory!

I just want to say that when I had posted that, I believed the guy at the time until I read about his fraud. Now I go to his site and laugh at everything he says. Get a load of what he said today on how he and Lucas met:
