All the ways you wish you could be, that's me. I look like you wanna look, I **** like you wanna ****, I am smart, capable, and most importantly, I am free in all the ways that you are not.

Something else to remember too is you have to choose your battles. Sometimes you don't get the luxury of squaring off against your opponent, and as we already saw in AOTC the Jedi were outnumbered. By the time Obi-Wan faced Vader again in ANH I think Ben chose to die more to help Luke and fulfil the destiny, rather than because Vader was better. Based on the evidence Ush has given us, I think the Obi-Wan/Vader dual would've lasted longer and possibly had a different end if not for Obi-Wan knowing the best way to fulfil the prophecies was to die himself.

Actually, now the Maul hysteria that was prevalent in that time has now died down... a little... (Post AOTC, a lot of people were saying the film would have been better if Maul were in it) I am less inclined to knock him at every opportunity. I'm not sure who would win out of Maul and Dooku; Dooku has the skill but Maul has the 'knack'... close fight. A lot comes down to how good you think Obi-Wan/Anakin in AOTC are compared to Qui-Gon/Obi-Wan in TPM.

ok what IS it with you and SMX?? Dooku is a HACK........he has no STYLE whatsoever....the man is decrepit and it shows....hack hack HACK I tell ya both! Darth Maul by far had the best fighting style to daye but I fully expect Anakin and Obi-Wan in Episode 3 to eclipse that.
My list and reasons.
1. Luke Skywalker. (Most unique Jedi warrior.)
2. Darth Vader (Most intimidating.)
3. Obi-Wan Kenobi (Most-dedicated.)
4. Yoda tied with Maul. (Wisdom award for Yoda, Intensity for Maul.)
5. Count Dooku tied with Mace Windu. (Style award.)
5. Dooku and Mace are the epitome of equals. Dooku is a classical swordsman, who has a much more defensive attack form that balances well with his dark side powers. Mace is an aggressive fighter, which balances well with his amazing light side power. If they were to duel I believe they would end up destroying one another.
4. Yoda tied with Maul. Yoda has been around for centuries, and it is pretty clear that the Will of the force (at least, part of it) is with the Jedi Master. He does live to be 900 years, making him arguealby the most intelligent and wise Jedi ever. Maul on the other hand, isn't old and uses the dark side, a much faster way of acquiring power. Maul spent nearly half of his life practicing his fighting techniques so he could become the most gifted Sith warrior ever, and he would have if he had not been so arrogant. Maul does take on two Jedi at the same time, but unlike Dooku, Maul wasn't wise enough to know when it was time to leave.
3. Obi-Wan Kenobi tells Anakin in AOTC that a lightsabre is his very life. Obi-Wan defeated a Sith lord when he was still a padawan and is then selected to teach the Chosen One the ways of the Jedi. Obi-Wan's incredible skill comes from the fact that he knows he has to be amazing if he is going to train Anakin and he wants to "Instruct him as well as Yoda." Obi-Wan also spent a few years fighting in wars on the front line with his lightsabre. This incredible skill is the only thing that saves him from Dark Anakin.
2. Darth Vader. Sure, he loses to Obi-Wan in ROTS. However, he clearly states in ANH, "When I left you, I was but the learner, now I am the master." I always assumed that line meant that Anakin let his emotions cloud his mind, and this is why he inevitably loses the duel against Obi-Wan. Also, two words, Jedi Purge. Since I was a small child the story was always that Vader is the most responsible for the extinction of the Jedi order. 10,000 Jedi dissapear and it is mainly because of Vader and his incredible powers of combat. Not that it is known for sure, but I am willing to bet Vader personally killed more Jedi than anyone, and it isn't that hard to believe, is it?
1. Luke Skywalker is amazing. He had the least amount of time to do the most amount of work in the Star Wars universe. When he severs Vader's hand and the dark side beckons him, he rejects it after seeing what it can do to you. (Both in his father and his own hand.) Luke acquires so much wisdom and power during the OT that I can't even begin to recognize anyone else as a superior warrior. And when it comes down to it, a warrior is a master of everything he can be. Luke's position is the most unique and I think he handles it and the combat better than anyone before him.
