Sorry, i didnt really know where to put this but i think all of us should read it. This was on that idiot Supershadow's site, i have read numerous paragraphs of bullshit on his site but this is gold:

Special Message From George Lucas: “In a few short hours, many of you will have the greatest cinematic experience of your lives. This movie has been over 28 years in the making. When Star Wars first became a glimmer in my eye, I knew that the final episode of the prequels would be one of the defining moments in the history of motion pictures. Shadow and I have slaved for nearly three years on this one. Revenge of the Sith has all the darkness and foreboding of The Empire Strikes Back. It has all the escapism and excitement of Return of the Jedi and it has all the wonder and magic of the very first Star Wars film.

For the first time, you can decide the future of Star Wars. The burden is all on you and your friends. I implore each of you to watch Revenge of the Sith at the midnight showings that will cascade all across the world. Then tomorrow I ask for you to watch Revenge of the Sith all day long. Wake up early in the morning and watch the very first matinee. Then get back in line all day long and see the movie all over again many, many times. Each time you watch the film you will discover something new.

After you‘ve watched Revenge of the Sith a few dozen times in theaters, you will begin to appreciate all the hard work and effort that Shadow and I have poured into this film. We have given our all and the result is something that you can all feel proud of. Your ideas helped shape this film. You all made a difference. We did this together. Your best efforts will always be remembered and never forgotten. As always, may the Force be with you.” (Source: George Lucas)

Wow. Just wow. That was amazing. Here are my favorite and least favorite parts...

Cons:
1. Some cheesy dialogue in the opening scenes.
2. Not enough Dooku. He should have at least said more.
3. A little choppy, too much cut so that some stuff didn't make sense.
4. No Imperial March
5. The "lost the will to live" stuff. Anakin killed her, plain and simple. Leave it at that. Its better.

Best parts:
1. Ian McDiarmid. Absolutely amazing. Perfect, shows depth to Palpatine as well as evil.
2. End battle. I liked the Yoda/Sidious part better, but it was amazing. The emotion as Obi-Wan talked to Anakin as he lay there was so powerful.
3. Pace. No boredom whatsoever. It just kept moving. The dialogue scenes moved too.
4. End scenes. The intermixing of the birth of the twins and the birth of Vader was very well done. The scenes of the splitting of the twins was good too. The music fit amazingly well ere.
5. The relationships between Anakin and Obi-Wan and between Anakin and Palpatine. Well done.
6. Mace/Palpatine scenes, though it was too short.

I just came back from the movie. I'll write up a review later, but for now just thought I should let you know-I'd give the film ***1/2 out of ****. I was very impressed, improved acting, improved CG, more dark, etc, etc. Very good film. I'd still say its on par with Return of the Jedi--simply because that's still more of a classic in my opinion...but both have some negatives, but overall mostly positives. If it wasn't for the fact that I grew up with Return of the Jedi, I'd probably say this was better.

I really don't understand people who HATE ROTS. I mean, I have been a fan since I saw ANH when I was eight years old. And ROTS is not flawless, I agree (heck I could rant and b*tch about it for hours) but it is by far better than TPM and AOTC and even, IMHO, better that ROTJ... This definately had the genuine SW feel to it without discarding the possibilities of modern filmtechnology.

Saw Ep3 last night, cant wait to see it again !

I went into this with a huge amount of anticipation, much like when I went to see 1 & 2, I wasnt dissapointed. As soon as it ended I said to my mate ''Now that was StarWars.'' I absolutely loved it, the only minor points were the quick 'Oh yeah, Qui Gonn learnt about immortality' and I wanted more of 'order 66' (even tho it was spectacular). Other than that I thought this was 1000 times better than 1 & 2 put together and then some.

The scene with Vadors first breath in the suit was awesome and the ending was perfect. Hats off to Lucas, he delivered a gem of a movie thats up there with ANH & ESB. Ill be going to see a few more times I can guarantee it.

Yep.

Well, the 3PO character was only iconic in the PT, he never really added anything to the PT anyway. R2 made a nice comeback though.

Thought Sith was excellent, perfect lead in to A new hope, and far and away the best film of all the prequels.

Just saw it yesterday. Came out of the theatre, literally stunned by the audio-visual overload. A good, almost great movie with a strong story, great FX and a solid emotional core.

Having read all the harsh criticism of the dialogue I was expecting multiple cringe-making moments, but they were suprisingly rare. The only line that really made me whince was one delivered by Yoda when he goes to confront the Emperor - you'll know it when you hear it.

In fact, I found the slated Padme & Anakin scenes fine, and the performances totally adequate - don't get me wrong, it's not Shakespeare and Hayden and Nat aren't going to win Oscars, but it was more than enough to make me buy in to it - they sounded and behaved like two young people in love.

And as for that Vader scene... It *is* corny, but it's not nearly as poor as some would have you believe. I actually like the fact that the PT revises our view of Vader and makes him an tragic figure - in that context, the first lines he utters make total sense. What did people want? For him to wake up after what he's been through and say "Phew, I feel better now. Now to find and kill the last Jedi!" C'mon!

As others have said, the Grievous and Wookie scenes are simply plot devices to get Obi-Wan and Yoda off Coruscant. They're entertaining enough and serve their purpose, but are otherwise disposable.

The real 'meat' of the film is Palpatine's seduction of Anakin. Ian McDiarmid is *sensational* - as he gently whispers his weasel words into Anakin's ear, I even felt like turning to the Dark Side myself at one point. When the Emperor appears it's actually a slight disappointment, with the slyly persuasive Palpatine replaced by a traditional B-movie cackling super-villain.

So, to reiterate - well worth seeing and a honourable end to the Star Wars saga. I need to see it at least two or three more times before I can make a truly rational assessment of it, but at the moment I'd say it was my third fave Star Wars film - ESB and ANH up top, ROTJ, AOTC and TPM below (actually, TPM way, way, waaaay below!).

Hutt out

I agree with ya, Hutt, on everything. Despite some poor acting and poor lines, this film is so good that it doesn't really bother me. There's plenty compensation. And your rating of the SW movies is identical to mine! big grin

I went to see it last night - I almost died from the brilliance! I loved t so much, and Anakin is tres sexy when he turns evil!

i loved the general grevious fight when he pulls out four lightsabers, I loved every single yoda moment, and my geeky brother and I kept on speaking along with bits from the trailers! geek

However... I felt some bits were a bit rubbish. Like Padme's pregnancy - how screwed up was that? One second shes flat as a pancake, next she's as big as a house! And the younglings bit wasn't as shocking as I thought it was gonna be, and the Anni/Count Dooku fight was over far too quickly. And how thick must Anni be not to realise how evil the emperor was - HELLO, he just told you to leave you master to DIE, you eejit! Obi Wans lines were a bit rubbish, and how come we didn't get to see Kwai-Gon at the end, if Yoda's sposd to be teachin obi wan how to talk to him? Lovd Chewy tho, he ROCKS!

Oh, and my one HUGE problem - If they're just starting to build the Death Star now, WHY DOES IT TAKE THEM SEVENTEEN YEARS TO COMPLETE?!?!?

PS, sorry for spelling mistakes, I was typing rather fast.... big grin
