72 - The Millennium Falcon's targeting readout was inspired by a paperweight Lucas had once seen on Arthur C Clarke's desk.
73 - Contrary to popular belief, Slave One was NOT inspired by a streetlamp outside ILM.

...and...
75 - the word Wookiee was improvised by Terry McGovern while working on THX 1138. he made a blunder and exclaimed, "I think I ran over a wookiee back there." Lucas liked the word and kept it in mind.

77 - Some of the more bizarre ideas from the first draft of the ESB script included: Vader going into a retreat to his deep lava cave with pet gargoyles and demons; Lando being a Clone who survived the Clone Wars and, when 3PO is "smashed" on the Cloud City, Vader out takes his robotic heart and crushes it.

78. The idea to give Darth Vader a breathing apparatus was artist Ralph McQuarrie's. The idea was that Vader would need it in order to travel from one space ship to another.

84. James Earl Jones requested that he not be credited for supplying the voice of Darth Vader in Star Wars. At the time, he said he felt he had not done enough work to get the billing, but he later admitted that he didn't want his name associated with the film because he was still an up-and-coming actor, and didn't want to be typecast.
85. James Earl Jones and David Prowse have never met.
86. The original teaser was narrated by Orson Welles, who was the original choice to do the voice of Darth Vader.

87. George Lucas campaigned to get Frank Oz a Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination for Empire Strikes Back but was rejected as the Academy didn't consider a puppeteer an actor.
88. The Empire Strikes Back is the only Star Wars film to not include a visit to Tatooine.

90 - The THX sound system actually has nothing to do with Lucas' first film THX 1138, it is merely an acronym for Tom Hollman Experiment, the person who developed the system. Much to Hollman's chagrin, Lucas has done little to deflate the fortuitous connection between the system's name and his first film.

91. The planet name 'Coruscant' was created by author Timothy Zahn in May 1991 for his book Heir to The Empire. Lucas liked the name and included shots of Coruscant, the Imperial Capital, in the end montage of Return of the Jedi in the '97 'Special Edition'.
92. Princess Leia is a great shot... she almost never misses. This is probably something she inherited from her mother, Padme, who also almost never misses.
