battle droids

in ep 3 why does palp have all droid units shut down when he could use them to make a stronger army

No idea to be honest, the only reason is because they could some how be a threat in the future beacuse the Droids can come in Mass Numbers when they attack..

No seriously... I think thats bang on the money...

Those droids were shit... GL even said that that was the reason they got succeeded by the clones....

Besides... If the Emporer wanted to reinforce his image with the republic as being the leader who brought victory and peace to the republic, it probably wouldn't do to have the droids still walking about all over the republic.... Especially with the seperatists being dead.... And they control the droids....

we can argue this all we want and most of the good reasons have been said, but the real reason is that there are no battle droids in the OT, so he had to wink

The droids sucked. Did you see Episdoe II?

Plus, the Senate knew the battle droids were the bad guys... if Palpatine used them, it would be obvious to the senate that he is the mastermind behind the war and everything... and they would kick his ass out.
