All of Imperiex I remember reading was when Mongul's warworld got blew up and he was thrown to Earth, he then taught Superman how to fight. They faught what they thought was Imperiex, but it turned out to be a drone for a much bigger Imperiex.
So, what else has he done?

I dunno.
It seemed like he was unbeatable so they used a plot device to send him back in time to the big bang so that he'd realize he was the imperfection that he was seeking to destroy.
It's doubtful anyone could beat him the way he was portrayed.
But, if he can be banished to another time or dimention, then I don't see why these defenders can't take him.
