Alright I know this isnt a game thread, but i desperately need a good answer to this. And only from peopel who own a 360 please.

I want to get a 360, but Ive heard it messes up a lot from some people, and other people have no trouble. If I get it I will get the premium thing. There is a extended warranty option and the cooling fan and stuff, but what do i need to ensure that it works or gets a refund for it if it breaks. I dont want to spend a lot of money because iti s already expensive. Also, does putting it upright instead of on the ground stop it from overheating more? Thanks.
