Chrome hounds

I have been getting a bit confussed with the hounds, so is the ones we drive in the game the nations hound or are we just robots. And i went to the site and the color on the hounds represents what nation they are from so is "sal kars" dark green And is mosjec Silver and takaria light green just can you tell me plz
