I looked for an existing thread, but I didn't find one, Peach and GK.
I downloaded the demo this weekend from the PSN, and I was actually pleasantly surprised at how much fun this is. The demo is over 30 minutes long, and offers a wide array of game play.
inFamous, a sandbox video game, is the story of Cole McGrath, a bike messenger given an assignment to deliver a package that is secretly a bomb. Cole survives the massive explosion and develops electricity-based powers. Soon, Cole discovers that his city has fallen into chaos under the rule of gangs and factions and must fight back against them to restore order. The game allows players to choose what path they would like to follow. Players taking on more good deeds will receive more helpful and exact powers while those who do bad deeds will have more destructive powers.
Has anyone else played this demo? I'll definitely be buying this when it releases this month.

The game looks like a lot of fun but i'm still wondering how much the game actually has to offer. Looks like a PS3 update and answer to Xboxs' Crackdown. I'm just hoping for some morality consequences and rewards as well as a fairly deep leveling system. The combat controls look very responsive and intuitive.
So, whats your verdict on the demo, Imped? How are the controls and did the demo live up to your expectations?

The controls are actually pretty smooth. I enjoyed how the movement of Cole just flows along. Honestly, I had never even heard of this game until I stumbled upon it while reading the Game Informer article while taking a shit. Then I looked for the demo, and was blown away.
There is one thing I like about this game, its actually challenging. I couldn't glide through the the demo in five minutes and it took me ages to get past protecting that crate. The environment is great as it feels like you can interact with every thing however the timing of the release is bad since prototype is out in a few weeks. They are similar games and prototype, in my opinion would be more enjoyable as it's more violent and seems to have the edge in variety / gameplay judging from trailers.
Gender: Male Location: In Luna's mane, chasing STAAARS!
Most definately. Prototype is indeed more enjoyable. Radical Entertainment is the same team who worked on Ultimate Destruction and who wouldn't like that game? Prototype is Ultimate Destuction but gory and more fun. Yes, the timing is bad for inFamous to be released when Prototype is nearly out but oh well. If gamers are into intense nonstop violent action, they should buy Prototype first. I think Radical Entertainment has Sucker Punch beat.
ive actuallly been on to this game for a LONG time. oh, how i wish i had the gadgetry necessary to play this. sigh.......................... it looks REALLY awesome.
Going to go pick up my reserved copy today at Gamestop. Comes with an extra power "Some lightning sword or something" and the Beta for the Uncharted 2 multiplayer

Zack, calling me a dumbass is stupid of you. Now go back to fooling around with your donkeys while playing Final Fantasy.
Prototype beats InFamous because it looks more fun. I'm not saying InFamous isn't fun (it's actually 95% close to being as fun as Prototype) but from I've seen in both games, Prototype is the highest on the fun chart.
Prototype has a better story. Alex wakes up in a morgue before getting dissected by scientists and notices that he has amnesia and super powers. He must use his powers to find out who he is, who gave him the powers and kill them. This story seems better than a delivery boy caught in an explosion and having electrical powers.
The superpowers are more awesome in Prototype than InFamous. Alex can absorb his enemies and take their appearence. He can use the appearence to sneak into military bases and stuff. Alex can lift tanks and throw them. Alex can grow blades and slice and dice people. Alex can grow impenetrable armor. Alex can run up buildings. All I've seen Cole doing is shooting electricity out of his hands, gliding, and draining energy out of people.
Alex can hijack a tank and a black hawk. Do you see Cole driving anything like that? No.
