Bayonetta is faster but her intangibility is canceled with the Hilbert Effect. KOS-MOS at full power puts her at cosmic level. All her feats when she had blue eyes are only scratching the surface of what she can do. Her Phase Transfer Cannon is capable of phasing stars (of course this never happens since later PTCs can control their blast radius as seen with T'ELOS.
The only way Bayonetta wins is if Hope Kratos and some other powerful character distracted her while Queen Sheva gets summoned. Even with those circumstances, KOS-MOS would probably stop the summon before it happens.
Mary Magdalene, whose body is T'elos and will in KOS-MOS, is a cosmic being. When her will was awakened during Episode 1, she absorbed an entire Gnosis fleet and protected a ship from burning in atmosphere entry. At the end of Episode 3, she, chaos, and Nephilim prevented the destruction of the universe.
KOS-MOS had nothing to do with preventing the destruction of the unvierse.
She had, in fact, had her self destructed by a Gnosis.
The two previous feats wouldn't make her cosmic level. In fact, re-entry was done by Bayo and she had no outside aid (KOS-MOS needed chaos help in order to stop disintegrating)
Absorbing salt (pretty much what Gnosis are) isn't all that impressive.
You're right; it was Mary who is KOS-MOS when she has blue eyes.
Notice she had red eyes?
chaos was awakening Mary's Will. It was KOS-MOS who made the barrier and it was not to protect herself (as she survived but had her head piece burnt off.
You act is if the Gnosis are barely a threat. It is impressive especially since they're the deadliest threat to humans in Xenosaga. Just having their touch can kill or turn one into a Gnosis.
KOS-MOS was able to beat T'ELOS with Mary's will awakened. She even absorbs her and becomes complete.
Mary gave her power to Nephilim.
It makes KOS-MOS much more powerful than she is when red-eyed. Notice Kevin is the only Testament who is defeated? There were no blue eyes when Voyager and Virgil were around.
Mary's will wasn't even fully awakened then. It was just for a brief moment in Episode 1.
Neither was KOS-MOS and this was a weaker model from those in Ep. 2 & 3.
Even when hit with the Hilbert Effect, they're still threats.
Which still doesn't show a jump from a high-end brick to cosmic level.
She has literally no feats of cosmic level.
And it wasn't even all that was needed to stop the problem. chaos is the failsafe.
Kevin is also the only testament that loves Shion and the only one I recall that betrayed in the end
Wait, how did you come to the conclusion that chaos awoken Mary in that scene?
No, she was disintegrating.
And you was speaking of this KOS-MOS specifically when you mentioned that feat. Which I'm adding doesn't trump Bayo's one where she didn't even feel bothered by it--she was even fighting while it was happening.
Marginally less so. I mean, their number one specialty--turning people into Gnosis and phasing--disappears.
She absorbed an entire Gnosis fleet, caused cosmic destruction in an alternate future when colliding with U-DO (red-eyed KOS-MOS), Mary's Will prevented the destruction of the universe with the help of chaos and Nephilim.
chaos couldn't do it alone. His name and purpose suggest that he's about destruction. Mary who dwells in KOS-MOS (cosmos) was made to keep things balanced.
He's still the only one who gets beat.
Xenosaga Wiki
Her body isn't even burnt. The only loss was the Hilbert Effect visor.
KOS-MOS would have survived the atmosphere entry. Everyone aboard the Elsa (except maybe chaos) wouldn't survive it.
