The fad's over, I'm afraid.
I can see people who actually want to learn guitar getting it, but playing an actual guitar is a bit much for the casual player looking for a party game.

My buddy has this game. I'll say right now that this is NOT a party game, rather this is a very cool tool to learn how to genuinely play the guitar. My buddy is an amateur guitar player and has commented that this game is not bad at all in tutoring how to learn chords and frets.
If you want a party game, then stick with Guitar Hero and Rock Band.
