If any of you science geeks understands what a Node is in physics, you'll know why Mags can't possibly win here. At least, not in a PIS free environment.

Anyway.
Nova break through Magneto's shield with his own set of shields and proceed to beat the old man with good ol' 100 tons punches right in the face.
Magneto + Namor, and Nova still wins.

I'd love to hear an explanation.
Are you saying Nova could disrupt the magnetic field lines Magento uses to manipulate the EM spectrum?
Btw, I agree Nova wins.

I'm not an expert by any means but I get the basic principles behind the concept...
quote: Standing waves result when two sinusoidal wave trains of the same frequency are moving in opposite directions in the same space and interfere with each other. [1] They occur when waves are reflected at a boundary, such as sound waves reflected from a wall or electromagnetic waves reflected from the end of a transmission line, and particularly when waves are confined in a resonator at resonance, bouncing back and forth between two boundaries, such as in an organ pipe or guitar string.
In a standing wave the nodes are a series of locations at equally spaced intervals where the wave amplitude (motion) is zero (see animation above). At these points the two waves add with opposite phase and cancel each other out .They occur at intervals of half a wavelength (λ/2).
In Rider's case, he has the power to create localized nodes nigh instantly that can both trap energy (in this case psionic)

http://i1215.photobucket.com/albums...-1332117628.jpg
Or cut off energy transmission from an outside source (in this case magic)
http://i1215.photobucket.com/albums...-1332947041.jpg
http://i1215.photobucket.com/albums...-1332947090.jpg
As we see, he can even nullify energies that are outside of the EM spectrum with the nodes. The implication of this being that Nova can cut off or nullify the power of anyone that draws energy from an outside source for their power by either nullifying it at the source or by cutting them off from their source. So basically, somebody like Magneto (or anyone that relies on the EM spectrum) is phucked. Couple that with the fact that the nodes are composed of gravimetric energy, he can also add a great deal of weight/mass/density to them (in that one scan I believe it was 20 planets or whatever) and then, there is no hope of escape!
