They could do extreme damage yes. A low level S-Class could devastate the planet. It was also stated a lower level S-Class could effortlessly defeat 500 A-Class at once and destroy the planet. How much of that is hyperbole I don't know but they didn't seem to be trying to exaggerate or anything. And they were so strong they couldn't pass through the barrier between Earth and the Demon Realm. Also Hiei by the end of the series was a near match for Mukuro, one of the Three Kings.
People still believe YYH S Class demons can destroy the planet, which is based of no feats whatsoever and has no precedent, man this is 2006 again, but at least there's no "Raizen's stomach has infinite power" claims
That said, pretty sure YYH characters still stomp anything below Nardo god tiers so, Hiei wins handily

S-Class Hiei is way too overkill for Kimimaro. He could just decapitate him before he can even move a limb or shatter him with a punch. He doesn't even need to use the Jaou Ensatsu Kokuryuuha on that level. Even Dark Tournament level Hiei is too much for Kimimaro's bony ass due to his speed, aura that can melt steel, and the dragon was spanning multiple city blocks in attack range. Kimimaro only has hope dealing with Spirit Detective and Saint Beast Hiei and even then Saint Beast Hiei might be too fast for him to deal with.
Yeah, I don't buy the planet busting claims either. Country busting is probably the highest YYH can achieve.
And it's indeed refreshing from the DBZ vs. HST threads. A lot of posters really need to broaden their horizons.

I don't believe I said anything about Raizen's stomach, though it is impressive. I'm just going off and Genkai and Sensui's statements respectively. Not to mention Koenma's father is a stated continent buster and he's only A class. In my mind, them having to fight in the demon world thereafter makes sense.
I dunno, wasn't Kimmimaro at his peak supposed to be Orochimaru level? Not that I think he could contend with a planetary-level fighter, but cut him some slack.
I will note that YYH doesn't exactly imply planet busting in the 'in a single attack' sense often meant.
Class Bs are strong enough to devastate a city. Class As a country. So I figure what it means with class S level people is they're planet-threatening in the 'they could go around and destroy every city and nation and nothing could stop them.'
Like, if you classed dragonball characters in the YYH method, Nappa and Raditz would likely be S-class.
He was stronger than anyone in the Sound four, but he wasn't anywhere near as strong as Orochimaru.
And what do you mean Kimmimaro at his peak? He was at his peak when he lost to part 1 Gaara and Lee. Sure, he died because of a heart disease, but we saw that he wasn't debilitated by it. It just led to his heart stopping right before he got to kill Gaara.
Kimimaro was put on Jugo's level in the anime. That's weak sauce. Especially to Orochimaru.
Um, no, he's not. He killed Orochimaru because he was severely weakened by his illness or whatever. Sasuke himself specifically stated to Karin that he would have had no chance against him otherwise.
