Not all Christians are from Westboro. Jesus had no problem pointing out when People were doing BAD and or WRONG Things. Much like he did with the people turning the synagogues in to market places. He didn't hold back then. And You are a pretty judgmental person as well.

And yet Jesus still doesn't strike me as the kind of guy to flip out over a colored piece of cloth that stands for something as benign as "diversity", considering all he taught about love and acceptance.

Nah, you're just upset that your cherry-picking-passages-rage-Jesus isn't actually in the Bible. That Jesus condemns gay sex, but loves fashionably trimming his beard and a good shrimp cocktail.
Of course he loved Judas man..dude earned him some silver! Come on, Judas got paid to "betray" Jesus. But Jesus being magic knew he wouldn't stay dead. So when they say Jesus resurrected and then went to "heaven" 3 days later what they aren't telling you is him and Judas were at a strip club spending their silver that they split and there was a stripper named "Heaven" there. He paid for lap dances for the Apostles and in honor of that they wrote him a song, the lyrics of which would be found thousands of years later and made into a popular song. "Jesus is just alright with me, Jesus is just alright oh yeah".
Mary Magdalene was not happy and so she got flirty with other guys. As punishment Jesus eternally labeled her a hooker so people in the future would think she was a prostitute.
