Eighth Brothers Death

I was rewatching some Star Wars Rebels and during the Twilight of the Apprentice episode when the Eighth Brother's lightsaber malfuntions during flight he apparently falls to his death. What I'm wondering is if he had descent Force abilities shouldn't he be able to survive that fall? Shortly after that Darth Maul fell of the same cliff and he managed to survive granted Maul had more power but it seems logical that any Jedi/Sith should be able to use the force to soften the landing.

Do you guys think it's possible he could have survived?

It's possible, but i'm sure he died. There is no point to being him back from a story point of view.

SW.com states the Eighth Brother fell to his death.

True, but it also used to say Darth Maul died on Naboo.

He missed day one of training. Really though I don’t see why that fall killed him. I mean Obi-Wan as a Padawan survived a worse fall after getting kicked in the face by Maul in TPM. Yeah, yeah Obi-Wan is a great Jedi.

But come on the 8th Bro should have survived a fall, I feel like that’s Jedi training 101.

A little update. I was glancing at my copy of the Ultimate Star Wars New Edition and in there it says he "seemingly" fell to his death so they left it a little cryptic.
