I think we are all hoping that Fox will correct the characters that were not played well. I don't know about Tom Cruise... he did make an incredible Lestat and I never thought about the accent he did not have! That is one of my absolute favorite movies and the books are even better! Brad, still my favorite, I even think it is a part he would LOVE to play, definately has that in his blood... I would love to see that.... time to start another Petition by ME!!! Kidding! just kidding!
cameras can work wonders. so can makeup. i say its the actor that counts. not the flashy prettyboy junk. we want remy. otherwise, any loser could get a dye job and some plastic surgery. its the actor we want, not necessarily the face.
like i said. short can be fixed (i occasionally do film, ill tell you, youd be amazed.), old is no biggie, what we need is the character.
and now for my real reply. (offhand comment- omg! i love the books and the movie was great! go anne rice! tom and brad forever!) brad could do it. im still thinking tom (maybe), but more johnny, or a no-name, or for petes sake, i love the guy so much, id get a gender reconstruction surgery and train my voice to speak lower just so i could play him! this character needs someone to love him, understand him, and be remy. be remy, be gambit, be a lebeau and honor my name - for petes sake! looks ARE NOT that important! i did a workshop in which they turned my pretty, feminine friend into a guy. i mean it, too. her hair is halfway down her back, she has the sweetest little voice, dainty cheekbones, tiny frame, the works, i tell you, and when they showed us the tape, after makeup and editing and the filming techniques (fancy word for tricks) and all, she was a six-foot-two, masculine, totally un-hilary studmuffin. half the girls got a crush on her. the point is to find someone who can play the character. let the appearnace follow as it may. again, i conclude my rant. sorry if i offended anyone. feel free to rant right back. l8er.
yeh....he was alryt in pirates of the carribean...but after seeing him in LOTR and troy....*sigh....kind of a pansy look he has goin...even if he did have a bit of rugged facial hair
Is that the Dorff guy? Ooo, I can't wait to see a movie Gambit, they are fools if they don't do it! Brad would kick butt, he would love to play that rugged, slick, rebelious, lady's man, he'de do it without asking for much. What would he look like with red eyes? Him and his Fight Club look maybe, what about the mask? LONG hair. No, Orlando is cool but he is no Gambit, I'm not too confident in the Tom Cruise idea. Johnny Depp is my favorite but even if he could pull it off I don't think it is a role that he would go for, he is very choosie about his parts and this isn't one for him.
i definitely respect your opinion. im just brainstorming. and about the $ and screen time, you're right. but then, can gambit have too much screen time? just kidding. you may well be right. i stubbornly disagree, though.
i dunno. maybe. i just think it has to be someone who can feel the character. someone who used to get all the xmen comics, or loves gambit, or someone (like johnny) who can take a character and bring it to life. i dont see why the role of gambit isnt for johnny, but he is pretty picky. somehow, though, i can see him jumping at the idea of such an odd but loved guy as remy. well. i do know that i say no orli or colin. i still go for johnny or a no-name. but i think any idea is equally good if you can back it up reasonably and make a good argument. anyway. l8er, y'all.

I don't know this Collin guy but I looked him up and all his photos are with him surrounded by ladies, his arms around 2 or 3 at a time! That's pretty Gambit like to me. He has the look too, but Brad, oh yeah, that's the one I'm sticking with. He has those things on top of the facial expresssions and the bad guy thing, he would love it. Ahhhh, lets just pray they even stick him in the movie or make a movie just for the Cajun, it's not looking good.
i remember a long time ago when colin farrell was on irish soaps, to be honest i don't know whether he could be gambit, but i think he deserves as fair a chance as anyone...
unless brad pitt is a closet x-men fan i can't see him doing gambit unless he's paid a ton and given leading role status... both bad for x3... whether he would be a good gambit i wouldnt rule him out...
Gender: Female Location: Somewhere in the good old US......C
X-men
Ok, ok I checked out this dude Stephen Dorff. Yeah I could see where he might resemble Gambit. But how tall is he?? and I'm still going for Angelina Jolie. Or better yet, I'm thinking someone like Sheryl Crow?? Feature wise of course. Tom Cruise????? Well I could see why but I have to say I think he's to old, plus he's going to look older then Scott Summers. (Not a good thing) Brad Pitt playing Angel. Way cool !!!
Aiy me. This whole x-men character choosing is tough work
Brian Singer: "You should really consider reading these ideas"
nice point,i could see brad pitt in the role of warren worthington 3 i think he could pull it off but for stephen dorff i think he would make a lousy gambit my moneys still on colin
