Evanescence is absurd. They attempt to masquerade as deep but fail miserably. Like most music today, they are auditory vomit, a horrendous miscarriage at quality music. I mean, really. "Wake me up inside, call my name and save me from the dark"? Could they be any more cliche? "Hello, my name is Amy. I am a card-carrying member of the Disaffected Youth of America. I am angsty and not shallow!"
The state of musical affairs today is a sorry abortion. Quality is at an all time low...where is quality control, after all? Who let Nickelback and Creed and Korn and (forgod'ssakewhatkindofnameisthis) Smile Empty Soul into the recording studio? Were there even people *there* that day?
I don't know what makes me more sad - that such crap music is being made in the first place and touted as good, or that people actually buy it and think it's good. Someone stick a pen in my eye if you ever catch me buying Limp Bizkit, please. If you see me rocking out to Papa Roach on the road, feel free to run me into a ditch or tree. If I'm in a bar dancing to Linkin Park, please throw a strong alcoholic beverage into my eyes and then destroy my kneecaps with whatever blunt implement is nearby. Thank you.

most of that is right,and i dont like Evanescence(spelt it rite), but please dont put Korn down. you've also gotta understand that just because you think this music sucks, doesnt make it true. i know a lot of people on this forum who like the bands you just mentioned who wont like what you just said, so keep an open mind ok?
Rest assured, I do keep an open mind. In fact, I would even go so far as to say that some of Korn's early stuff is not that bad. However, they sold their soul, found an easily-tweakable melody, and spliced in lyrics from virtually any teen angst poem. But that's just my opinion, and you shouldn't take offense to it (because what do you care what I think), and it's not as though I'm directly insulting you or your intelligence.
While I won't natter on endlessly about how much I dislike a band for the pure joy of it (though I do enjoy that), I will ridicule a band mercilessly and provide supports for why I would do so. Is that not what this forum is for? If I curtailed my speech to avoid offending people, I would never say anything, and neither would anyone else if they followed my example.
im not offended, its just that some people might get offended. im perfectly happy to defend any band that i like, even from your merciless tongue. but not here, because i dont like Evanescence...so to get back on topic, they SUCK
