Phew! Three dodges would have timed out out of another attack, you see!
Ok, so, Fire makes three attacks at skill 5
Coeus has a dodge, a dodge, and a block- a 7,7, 5.
Fire rolls 6, 3, 6.
Counter, Counter, Hit.
Ok. It is not a good enough hit to get extra damage.
Fire's strength is one less than Coeus'.
The Sword does +3 damage, taking it to 2
Coeus performs a Clever Fox power to remove the damage of the weapon, taking it to -1
It SHOULD have hit, Fire. But with almost blurring speed, Coeus moves just as you hit to make it a mere superficial graze.
That makes the hit an advantage. As Coeus isn't getting his next attack, this means that Fire gets +1 to his attack coming now.
Coeus also gains two exertion points. His survival is only being made possible by continuous dodging that is costing him attacks!
Fire: 3/3/2
Coeus: 4/0/2

Ok, appreciating that on-line fights are going to be faster, I am now going to change the system to how it is at home- you take one extra damage for each point you were hit by- this is even though I have given people less hits they can take.
Strength will also now count DOUBLE, to keep its edge.
Which basically means Fire's damage goes up to 5. Coeus is still just fine.

Ok, with the advantage I gave Fire, the base score is 6/5
Fire rolls a +2. 8/5. A hit.
Fire scrams down off the wall and makes a long cut along Coeus' arm!
Fire hit by 3 points, making a bonus of three damage.
But with a strength one less than Coeus, that takes it down to 1.
But as it is a sword attack, it goes up to 4. And the attack did plus three damage for the wall jump, taking it to 7! Ow!
That slash goes down your side, Coeus! Nasty!
Fire, at least, gain an exertion point.
And... In forgot that CLever Fox weapon damage reducing power should be an exertion as well- I shall add that in from now on.
Still, your move, Coeus.

Ok! Basic score is 6-7.
Coeus scores +2. 8-7. A hit! The speed of his counterstrike after being so much on the defensive caught you off guard, Fire, and he slices your side!
A hit by one does one damage.
Coeus is one point stronger than Fire for two extra damage, making the total 3.
Plus 3 for the sword- 6 points! Nasty...
Fire gains TWO exertion points. Coeus loses one.
Round is over! Focus pools refresh! Fire to attack.
Except no, Fire misses his attack due to exertion! Coeus to attack!

Yay! Coeus unleashes a series of walking-kicks in mid-air at Fire!
To remind people how this works-
This attack is very slow. Coeus misses his next action automatically.
But if he hits, he kicks again. And if he hits again he kicks again. And so on... until he misses or Fire is down!

Yup! I am just worried I am doing TOO much damage now... but I think not. If you hit dead on, it would take you 5 kicks or three sword strikes to wound Fire, that's not bad and makes your strength as worth it as his speed (and let us not forget that speed also gave Fire a higher MA AND Guns score).
Fire has to hit you harder- a dead on kick he would not hurt you with, and it would take 15 dead on sword strikes for him to wound you. It is therefore important that Fire hits you by a clear point or two- if he hits you by one clear point each time it immedaitely becomes only eight times before he wounds you; he must also use his extra focus to hit you harder and his extra speed to hit you more.
Yeah, works well.

I hope you won't be annoyed if I take a break for the night, Rex- been quite busy in here! Don't worry, we shall fit you in. You really want more MA skill first though, if you want to join in on the 'no guns' practice.
I'll tell you something, when we have our first big fight this could get quite complex... luckily, the gunners should be knocking down coppertops quite fast.
