i dont think how long he's unconscious is relavant. honestly? they got him up to par as fast as they could, which is prolly really quick considering the tech of their time (can WE plug our brains into computers? no.) so u cant judge how they did it, it was to make something that could've taken years into a much shorter time period, but this is way over analyzing something thats very minute for the matrix movies. obviously, they did it fast enough for neo to save the world.
i dont know this for a fact- it is only my opinion.
but what evidence do you have that his hair would grow at an abnormal rate?
if there isnt any evidence of that then we have to assume it would grow at a normal rate.
(LOL were actually having an in depth discussion about the growth rate of a hair!)
In Reloaded, when Trinity gets the keymaker in the car and Morpheus rolls over the hood and jumps in we see the twins make desparate attempts to open the car door as it speeds off. Surely they could have just got into the car by using their, "nice trick"?

that confused me too, it looks like they dont know wut to do w/a car door handle, maybe they never used them b4? lol.
i agree w/samhain tho, the twins look very (either confused or stupified u pick) when theyre standing right next to the car, like they're letting it get away.

Measuring the length of time by hair growth is totally inaccurate. You're wondering why and I am about to tell you:
You stated that normal adults hair growth at his age is roughly .30mm a day (I am uncertain to this fact, but it coincides with estimations I've been told of about 1/2 inch a month).
But your main problem is a "normal" adult - one who is completely healthy. Remember what Neo was fed as he was plugged into the pod? The liquifided remains of the dead right? Certainly that would contain a lot of protines, vitamins, and carbohydrates. But the problem lies in the fact that hair and nails are Calcium deposits, something which would not be abundant in that food source. So, to be completely accurate, Neo would not have had any fingernails, toenails, hair, and he would have had very weak bones with a condition simular to Osteoperosis. Once he's out of the matrix and he's recieving nurishment, hair and nails are the last thing the body would start using Calcium to rebuild, it would be deposited into his bone structure.
You also said that it couldn't possibly be the first time he's woken up and what of his rehabilitation?
Well, no, it couldn't be the first time, but a body in complete shock from such an enviornment change, he coiuld have asked Morpheus that question 30 times and not remembered! Look at me, I've been deathly sick for some time now, and spent the majority of that time in bed, I'm told I even went to the hospital for a while...but I couldn't tell you for sure. And his rehabilitation, let me ask you this: It's not alright that the crew of the Neb have medical advancements far superior to our own being as they are thousands of years into the future, but it is alright for them to have electric implse engine hover crafts that can broadcast a persons mind into a gargantuant computer system controlled by AI to subdue humans to a life of slavery as a bunch of batteries?! Come on now this is Sci Fi - deal with it!
Also, the movie starts Feb 16 1998, the opening sequence through the release of Neo from the Matrix happens within 3 days. Think about it, Agents chase Trin, she escapes but they have the name of their next target - Neo. Trin comes right back and warns Neo, presumably that same night or the next night since they doon't know if the machines will kill him or not. He goes to work the next day, taken by agents, wakes up in bed in the middle of the night, meets Morphius and is released. That could not be any more than three days because the Neb's crew doesn't know if Neo is at risk of dying and Morpheus believes he is the one.
The end date is september 16th 1999 and then ReLoaded begins. Reguardless of where that time takes place, Neo's hair is still frairly closely shaven to his scalp, even in Revolutions. So reguardless to say, they either had been keeping it shaven or it was NOT growing normally.
For the last time, there is no plot hole here.

I think that their look is more out of frustration because as they were reaching for the handel Morpheus kept shooting at them, and since they dematerialize completely (not just a portion) almost out of instinct they couldn't grip the handle. As for jumping into the car, they have to be prepared for it, as you see happen twice on the freeway, since they obviously cannot have a portion of themselves on the outside of the car when they rematerialize.

thank you osiris, my posts may be scarce for awhile as I'm still recovering, but I am able to move to my computer for a short time now.

the twins "ghosted" but i dont think they even could survive something like that. i think that even tho they ghost, they cant "fly" as far as we know, and to time it so that they materialize right when they land w/o gettin hit by a car coming on that overpass is highly unlikely. i think they jus died.
