He never had power to defeat Neo. Even at the end of Revolutions when he cloned Neo. Neo allowed him to do so. So this cannot be the reason.
The only reason that seems clearly is the cloning of Oracle. But Oracle didnt use to fly.
Well the oracle was most unfortunate to have inhabited an old woman who smoked way too much, she could most likely alter the code and what not, what use did she have with flying?
My guess is all programs (except exiles) where able to alter the code to some extent and ofcourse they'd have to be programs that inhabit shells, not programs that govern whatever lifeform like the oracle says with the crows, and the oracle is just as powerful as the architect, the architect can change anything.
Ofcourse these assumptions are based on absolutely nothing, but they make sense.

No. Wrong. Noone could win, if they had kept fighting. It was just like two equal but opposite charges were colliding(fighting). Also Neo told Smith how he constantly kept on persisting: by chosing. So, whatever Smith could do, Neo could only chose to persist and thus remain alive.
Ever Oracle faced deletion? I think she had. Then she chose to hid in the Matrix. She definitely had some powers. Now the question is that whether she had the power to change code or not. IMO she had. Now it makes sense how Smith(cloned from Oracle) was able to fly or cause that rain in Superbrawl.
If the One was eventual result of the anomaly inherent to a matrix of course and the Oracle was the mother of such a matrix, i would guess that most of what Neo could do the Oracle could do, this was proved by UberSmith.
But did she ever face deletion i think not. My reason, because of what the Oracle said about the Architect and choice "that man can't see past any choice, he can't, he doesn't understand them". This would imply that her knowledge of the intricasies of the Matrix is in some areas superior to his, therefore she is just a valuable to the running the matrix as he.
Too important to be deleted.

No. Wrong. The Oracle and the Architect were equal but opposite. Exactly as Neo and Smith were.
Oracle's purpose: to balance, Architect's: to unbalance.
From Oracle's "powers" in my earlier post i didnt mean that she was not equal to the Architect. She never used her "powers". Does predicting future include changing code? No. There can be another explanation. i.e. taking the alternative. Let us take that Oracle didnt have the power to change code. As Smith was a virus, we can say he got that power incidently after cloning Oracle.
why did it take 6 months for smith to come back from the source?
