Read the following text-After the opening crawl,Queen Amidala's starship and it's convoy are approaching Coruscant when suddenly they come under attack. The larger ship (the Nubian), supposedly carrying Amidala takes the brunt of the onslaught and Amidala's handmaiden Cordé (played by Veronica Segura), is killed. When they land, Amidala has a quick discussion with Captain Typho about what to do and then discreetly goes to her quarters.
After reading this I got a very interesting idea.Queen Amidala is supposely killed while aboard the Nubian while it was really just her handmaiden,Corde.It is well known that Portman's character will be known as Padme Naberrie {based on the Lucas Film domain names and with the official site saying Natalie Portman plays Padme INSTEAD of Amidala}and heres why.Fearing the Queen's life is in danger,Captain Typho,her loyal guard,suggests that she lets the whole universe think this is true.She then goes under disguise as Padme forcing Naboo to elect a new ruler{Queen Jamailia}What do you make of this?Am I close?

The rumours said so. There is some distinct evidence that Padme is a Senator in Ep2 and thus goes by the name of Padme and no longer by her queen's name Amidala. Naboo will have another queen. Remember, the queens (and kings?) of Naboo are elected, they may therefore also have terms.
There was something else. I heard there might be some kind of conflict or misunderstanding between OB1 and Anakin about Padme's supposed death. A conflict that paves the way for Anakin's turn. I do feel we first need to see that Padme and Anakin are in love before we can credibly believe Anakin is pissed when he is wrongly informed about the death of his beloved. That's why she can't disappear at the beginning of the film. IMHO OC.
I think EJ is close, but on one thing I have to disagree. Like said before, I don't think she will be Queen.
First of all, we know she will be a senator, from the domain names and other sources. Also she is now called "M'lady", heres a line Cordé has in Ep2:I think Padmé will be going to the senate to cast her vote on something. I've heard that its a vote on againt cloning an army.
I actually quite like the idea of Jamillia being elected after the supposed death of Padmé/Amidala.
But many people, judging by the select pics, are assuming that Jamillia is a Twi'Lek. Now for some reason I can't really imagine Naboo having the ruler be an alien from a different nation. I'm sure they'd have someone human.
I am actually hoping that this whole Queen Jamillia of Naboo is a load of cobblers and that Padmé/Amidala remains the queen of Naboo throughout much of the Prequel Trilogy.

I'd have to pretty much go with queeq on this one (did I say that again???) GL may throw that Romeo and Juliet twist in ep2. i.e., anakin thinks padme is dead but is mistaken.
Padme and Anakins relationship/marriage we know is doomed anyway, might as well make it as tragic as possible..its supposed to be a dark picture, right ?
