He was too green as a puppet in TPM as well, much greener than in ESB. That was the idea: a younger Yoda.

I think Yoda should stay a puppet.

Muppets tonight, nice!
I disagree though. At the very least, Lucas should have kept Yoda the same.

He can't keep Yoda the same because Yoda Is NOT the same. He is 32 years Younger in TPM, and 10 years older than that in AOTC

Yeah, but then it shouldn't have been a puppet in TPM.
Yoda seemed to be the one character who stayed the same throughout, now that is gone.

Well, I can't figure why he is a Puppet in TPM.
Put your hand in your heart... Did you really BELIEVED the crossed eyes character "YODA" in TPM??????
I see the movie over and over and still there is two things that I really dislike: the overacted impersonation of Mace Windu (i loved SLJackson in every other movie, but hated on TPM) and the puppet of yoda!!!!
...WELL, i've said it!!! I'm Sorry!!!

Well, that's your opinion, then.
I beleive that Yoda should stay a puppet. Lucas should give his fans that one at least.
I even still think most of his scenes will be the puppet. We've only seen less that 2 minutes of a 2 hour + movie. Yoda will be a puppet.

Yeah, To, you're right. Maybe the shoots where the whole body is compromised are CGI, and others (in DVD trailer, a shot on JC, with Yoda sitting in a "chair" while Mace Speaks, and similars) we still have a puppet, but i still think in the lips movement that CGI gives, that puppet can't.
Or maybe Mr Lucas is very pleased with ILM's cgi, and loose perspective.
A confession: the first time i saw the trailer, i get a discussion with a friend, cause I see Yoda very much like in ESB, and he stands that is CGI. Then, with a better copy of trailer (and the time to see it step by step again and again I realized it IS cgi!
So, for me, it isn't so bad. Its a technical discussion if he is CGI or puppet. The tricky part will be when we were seated in darkness on a theatre on may 2002 and BELIEVE this characters, forgetting if they are bone and flesh, rubber and denim, bits & bytes, etc!!!!
(I really hope this ahappen!!)

Yeah, you're right.
But I wish Lucas would at least keep Yoda. He is, in a way, the one constant character who doesn't completely change between trillogies!

Sand Person you should read the posts again., I think EVERYONE agrees that Obi-Wans line at the end of the trailer was sarcasm.
I think the CGI Yoda looks great now. But I'd still prefer him to be a puppet in every episode.
The same with R2. I can tell which shots he was CGI in TPM. It distarcts me from what's going on in the scene because I think "R2 looks different from normal".
A Yoda puppet should be used for close ups at least.

Well okay, you can be bothered. I like that he had more pronounced expressions really. The puppet always looks a little fake too.

If you hate CGI so much, better not watch AOTC then. There's gonna be a lot of it.
