Where did you get the name from?

Where did you get the word "Kyber-dart" from? Is it some new rumour that I've missed?

He has a point chaps, it could be that Lucasfilms considers the few thousand dollars it's spent on domain names as a good investment if it throws us off the track.

The speculation of Episode-II is phenomenal, much bigger than even Episode-I.

Re: Where did you get the name from?

Yeah I guess it's because no one had much knowledge of what happens before Episode 1. Now that we've come to Episode 2 we can use all the knowledge from Ep1 to speculate things.

Do you honestly think that LFL is speading misinformation?..I have mixed feelings..but I'd bet that Kyber Dart is for real...and not that significant.

I really don't know Dim, I too have mixed ideas on this but what I am saying is that the cost, maybe $5000.00 or so is a drop in the ocean on a $115 million film.

And, even since 97-99 when episode-I was in production, the growth in the Internet and the number of online people has grown tremendously.

In truth I would like to think that my initial thoughts on the Dart being some kind of vehicle are closer to the truth than a disinfomation campaign.

Oh I agree that it's cheap to do..if that's their idea...And you might be right about the Kyber Dart being a vehicle...based on current rumor I don't see why they would even think to reserve a domain for a weapon like that...it doesn't sound so interesting that someone one would want a site named that...but of course..I could be wrong.

I'm still not sure, just look at how much we've talked about it.

I think the kyber dart is this evil little flying creature like those mynocks that attack the Millenium Falcon in TESB.

Re: Where did you get the name from?

If I was Lucas then I would definately be giving out wrong information. I would also get Lucas employees to contact sites like TFN and give them wrong info. Anything to protect all of the hard work that they are putting in.

Re: Where did you get the name from?

I agree. It sounds like it's been real hard work for Lucasfilm preventing people from finding out stuff and sneaking onto the set. I think some of the select pictures are there to confuse us too. The one with the possible lightsabre duel looks fake to me.

Yeah when its released we could look through all the select pics and see if you can recognise where they're from. I reckon most of the pics are tiny little things in the background that are hard to spot.

I think this whole clue business is funny..it makes me wonder what we're not finding...it's funny how the select pics have been more informative than those "on location" clips. smile

I never watch any of them. They seem pretty dull to me. I always look forward to Friday though, when the Select Picture comes.

I think it's probably easier to hide something in a still image than it is in a moving video.

Re: Where did you get the name from?

OK spoiler alert: the Kyber Dart is rumoured to be the thing Jango Fett uses to kill the bounty hunter Zam Wessl (or something like that) after she is chased by Anakin and Obi-Wan through the streets of Coruscant. The chase either starts or ends in a Coruscant Night Club. Possibly Zam is killed because she may have some important info.

Now Kyber comes from the illustrious Kyber Crystal which Lucas used in one of his early drafts of A New Hope. It was to be the thing that could enhance the Force or something. So an object desired by both light and dark sides. It became redundant later on when Lucas decided that a mystery to the Force was better and he didn't really need the Crystal. Seems like he likes recycling like he did with the shiny silver space ship. That was also in one of the early drafts and now it features in TPM.

There you go.
