Yeah Panaka again with his annoying dialogue. I don't like the way that is a phrase used in the real world and then put into Star Wars.

You're right, DD. There are no ducks in Star Wars. Wampas, Banthas, Jawas and Wookies, but no ducks ! Maybe he could have said we'll be sitting GUNDARKS!!!

There are ducks in Star Wars. In TPM when the Gungan sub comes out of the water some ducks fly away. I read about Hugh Qaurshie a few days ago and it said he was filming another movie whilst Ep2 was being filmed.

Actually I thought they were Canadian Geese.

Panaka is outta there. He's been replaced by Captain Typho.

Which is just fine with me considering Panaka was about as interesting as a piece of lint...and I'm talking about the blue denium kind...not the multi colored stuff...

What?...is it too over the top?..

I guess I get it from the prima donna act that Quashie pulled..it rubbed me the wrong way...and his character really was as interesting as a piece of lint stick out tongue

Well, such a talent the LFL could afford to loose him... NOT! His resume is actually very unimpressive.

Ratcat I don't know what Canadian Geese look like but I'm pretty sure that the animals in TPM go "Quack,Quack".

These are Canada Geese and they go "Honk, Honk". The birds that fly off when the sub emerges at Theed seem to have long necks to me.

Yeah they're bound to have a name in some source. I checked the Insider's Guide, but couldn't find anything.

queeq, I believe you misspelled that. It should have been mistacalafragilisticexpealadochis.

DD, if you start that chicken thing again, I'll be forced to join you and EJ will have our heads on the chopping block. smokin'

Comment on topic..the novel says nothing about the birds, although they did appear to have somewhat longer necks than your average duck. I have no doubt we'll run this right up to 100 posts before we ever confirm the identity of these creatures. rolling on floor laughing

There can be many normal animals in Star Wars. In TESB there are loads of snakes and lizards on Dagobah and in a source book I read that Luke used to own a dog before ANH. Can't wait for an elephant to appear in Episode 2.

Just to fuel the duck/chicken/goose theory.

There are, apparently, many different species of Cananda Goose, I just posted a picture of one kind. There are loads of sites about them and YES there are some that are a lot paler in colour than the ones pictured.

As for Chickens, well I personally love a good Chicken Korma, near where I live is a curry house that does an award winning Korma.

Roast chicken with sage and onion stuffing and pork sausage meat, yum!

Stuffed chicken breasts, chicken pasta salad, chicken sub, yes I sure love chicken.

Turkey is just as nice though it has a slightly different flavour. With Christams coming as well!!!

Once again with sage and onion stuffing and pork sausage meat. Roast potatoes (maybe from Idaho!!), carrots, brussel sprouts, and green beans.

Yumm, yumm. But then back to those chickens... OK, maybe later............

I think Ratcat likes chicken almost as much as I do...

On page 9 of the "Inside the Worlds of Episode 1" book there is a clear picture of the birds at the river. It is clear that they are not geese or swans. They do in fact look a lot like pelicans. Have a look if you own that book.
