I have to agree with satsujin on this one.
Pistols use to rule, Duel wielding pistols was fun, now I only touch them when I'm desperate.
Plasma pistol BR combo... I hate having to use it, but most of the time its the only way to actually kill another using it, (without a snipe from a mile off, or a rocket.)
Best example of how unbalanced the game is... Where does everyone run to when the game starts??? Who shouts "DOUBLE KILL" when they kill 2 with rockets??
I shout when I kill 6 with rockets, that's about it.
Duals are my favorite, but I survive with just a PR/Sniper... or in fact, even just a sniper. I own the sniper. Close range, melee, long-range... I win
I've only played on Live once or twice using my friend's tag. I'm not really one of the best, but I do have my moments. In a 4-player Jufggernaut match on Lockout, I had a sword and an SMG. I was looking down into the middle area where the Juggernaut and the other two were fighting. When the Juggernaut's overshield dropped, I lunged at him. Then I switched to SMG, dual-wielded it with the one dropped by the previous Juggernaut, and shot down the other two. It looked so awesome!
1.) Plasma Pistol. Shields go down instantly with a fully charged shot which gives you a perfect opportunity for a melee
2.) Brute shot. Fires more rapidly, propels the ammunition faster, and has a lower chance of killing you with the splash damage; also has a stronger and faster melee.
3.) Apparently, you've never seen me or my friends play. There's always someone who owns for at least a short while using needlers, no matter what type we're playing.

Because they are the types of people who play Halo 2 obsessively and have nothing else to do in their lives. They think that they're better than you even if you wipe the floor with their face.

Shows your confused, Its ok though. If you played more you might realise;
Rockets are much better then brute shot.... They both do the same melee damage, 2 hits. Like nearly all the weapons need to kill.....
Needlers don't do jack... You must of been playing against truely awful players to be able to pull a "spree" of on them....
Sword is Much more powerful then duel weilding... Done correctly you could of easily killed the jugga on full shields, and the 2 people who came for you. You wouldn't really change too 2 smg's unless your using the sword wrong....

1.) I just had to find the right perch. Then it's "Everybody get David, he's camping with the f*cking dual needlers!"
2.) We were actually playing dreadnaught, where the dude gets big overshield, extra damage. I had to ditch the sword 'cause the dude chose that moment to run out of ammo and tried to bash me.

ugh , please spare me.. I dont want to see you or your friends play if whoever you play dies to needlers (lmfao).. thats just disgraceful, and a waste of time to boot.
not to mention you basically supported my argument that the weapons were wrongfully tweaked

I really do attempt to enjoy whatever I pick up.. but my main weapon .. hmm.. Its a tie between carbine and battle rifle.. I enjoy their rate of fire and distance very much (the melee isnt half bad either )
my 2nd fave would be a 3-way tie between plasma pistol, SMG, and shotgun
I like the beam rifle more than the human sniper.. but I really only use either of them in a Team Snipers match.. I'm not accurate enough to make a large contribution to the score sniping by myself
I visited a friend the other day who didn't have any of the updates for the game, I picked up the pistol and was instantly reminded how great they use to be...
