I love Anke Eißmann's pix because they are so close to the books and original texts - I don't always like her techniques / style, but the pictures are magnificent.

Here's one of Lúthien Tinúviel - the only portraying of her I know that really represents the atmosphere in the books and isnt full of weird glittering lights and other "elfy magic"

She looks exactly like Tolkien describes her in the Lay of Leithian -

Her robe was blue as summer skies,
but grey as evening were her eyes;
'twas sewn with golden lilies fair,
but dark as shadow was her hair.
Her feet were light as bird on wing,
her laughter lighter than the spring [...]

'A! Lúthien, Tinúviel,
