The thing that gets me about FotR is that it was REALLY choppy.

My friends and I made a LotR opera, and we sing that part so much, and as loudly as we can, all together (ie, ear piercingly loud). It's hilarious. Anyway, kinda off topic, but oh well...
*yawns* no thanks on the box, discribing it isn't worth it because the books will still be better... I will see it though, I heard the extended version is a lot better...
FotR: EE did make the original cut seem much less choppy.

I especially loved the scene when Aragorn sings the lament of Luthien.

yeah i like that but i didnt like the way he explained it
luthien an elf maiden...who gave her love to beren a mortal man
what happened
she died
he said it all sadly as if it had happened to him...so un-book reading audiences will be like...aww his wife died or something...(trust me its what my ENTIRE family said)
now i know it could happen to him because of arwen and thats why he was sad but i mean come on.....
I thought that was good...by that moment we know that elves are immortal because of Galadriel's dialogue in the prologue, and so to have an elf-maiden, Luthien, die. That's like 'audience: wow'.

A bit offtop if so sorry... but I loved the lament of Lúthien... I love the whole version much more its soooo beautiful... especially some of the lines about Dairon
When leaves were long and grass was green
Then Dairon with his fingers lean
As daylight melted into shade
a wandering music sweetly made
Enchanted fluting, warbling wild
for love of Thingol's elven child...
I like it because I think this part is a bit too short in the Silmarillion - that Daeron loves Lúthien and everything.

i think im talking about an unhealthy obsession, you guys are talking about being fans of something. I mean "Dungeons and Dragons" obsession, you know the stories. guy plays dungeons and dragons for years, he lives with his mom, doesn't go to work or anything just plays DD all day, after years he kills himself. that kind of obsession, when it becomes your life. sorry for the confusion.
I thought you were gone, Extol. *sigh* These meaningless fights about nothing are so stupid and you're gonna get booted off here for good one day, Extol. You just wait. You'll see.
*mutters to self* stupid fights....argg....stupid people....
Plus, we aren't obsessed with LOTR. We are just greatly passionate about it. There is nothing wrong about it.
