I'm just sick of how people are allowed to bring tier 2 armors (which are meant to combat mobs such as ragnaros and nefarian) into battlegrounds to use against level 60 players... that just destroys the pvp balance creating an overall disappointing experience
I agree satsu. Thats how my server is. And thats why the alliance always beat us. Becaue on my server on the horde side there is a distinct difference between the people that PVP, and the people that PVE. They dont usually do both its one or the other. But the alliance do both, and its annoying.
Well in AV as a lock i can take down a wraith equiped tauren with a sulfuron hammer one on one and i don't got any tier 2 ... most peeps in htat stuff usually suck hhhehheheh
A point was brought to my attention my a 60 NE Hunter on the forums, that hadn't occured to me until he mentioned it in his (long) post.
PvP is not skill based at all. It's all about who has the best gear, which is wrong. I skilled player with crappy to average gear can only go so far in PvP, where as a horrible player with MC and BWL Epics with no skill can unfairly kick ass in PvP.
I've also just relised how seriously flawed the Honor sustem is, I was demoted from Sargeant Major to Master Sargeant in a weeks time because my server (Windrunner) had a freaking waiting line everytime I tried to log on, and once I finally got in, the Q (as I like to spell it) for each BG was at least 2 hours, and since I'm in school right now, I have a seriously limited amount of timeto play every day.
I've been playing WoW since January of 05' (so a little over a year now) I I've paid about $180 on it so far, and I'm starting to lose my money's worth.
I am by no means quitting anytime soon, that's to much money to just up and leave. But they seriously need to fix a lot of things.
Oh, and here are my toons that I have right now:
56 Human Paladin - Was the like the 3rd alt I created when I started way back, but soon became my main after I seriously effed up my Hunter by level 18.
29 Night Elf Hunter - This is a diff hunter than the one mentioned above, he's much better and I know what I'm doing with him now(lawlz) Will probably become my "new" main after I hit 60 with my Pally.
4 Undead Warlock - Just made him 2 days ago, figured I'd give Horde another shot.

yes, I agreed, you spend so much time playing and if you quit now. You will lose all your efforts. Keep trying harder. Wow, $180 is a lot of money. Good luck!
For instance, with my lvl 60 Undead Priest, who has decent gear (some blues and greens) I beat a lvl 60 hunter in a duel who had full dragonstalker and that epic bow and who's in the best guild on the server.
K, guys. I finally got it (and got all the patches, that was kinda annoying). Now I'm stuck, I don't know which I want to start with (I'll probably get the other one later) - a night elf rogue, or a human paladin.

skill is not so much art of this game, gear and build is what makes one of the edge in most cases, and also class, some classes have a superiority in pvp over others preists and Warlocks come in mind first, preists can pretty much own every class that uses mana, even if the other has epics and what not, and if they are in good guilds heh, burn the mana from a hunter and he is cripple while you are in the power shield, and he wont have a chance, locks fear DoT, shadowbolt , deathcoil run fear again, DoT = player dead most likely by then
all you really had to do was mana burn and fear... can you defeat a rogue or warrior with epics? (classes with no mana I mean...) A very small part is actually based on skill but the skill requirement 'is' there... but a larger percent is alleviated by having epic items. Not to mention PVP and one on one arent the same things, since in pvp one on ones are not likely to happen (as backup comes to plow you over after they heal their friend that you almost decimated).
if you duel a hunter you gimp them by not allowing them to hit you from far range (since the duel will cancel).. add mana burn to that and you have yourself one roasted hunter
I beat epic rogues constantly. Rogues are the easiest class for me, no doubt. Warriors are tougher, but I often beat epic warriors as well. Hunters are much harder then both of these classes.
Mana Burning a Hunter is a waste of time. The casting time is too long and by the time their mana is gone, so is mine from their mana drain spell. And, if we're both out of mana, they win. I just out damage them. Throw on my DOTS, Mind blast whenever I can, mindflay, and fear. With a Hunter, you have to try to kill them as fast as possible before they train your mana.

I still say gear/class>skill in this game. though you need some knowleage of what to do and also know what your team mates are capable of that is important aswell, if im with a MS warrior that knows what to do in most of the cases, we can pretty much take on anything from 2 to 4 opponents, this happend today btw in WSG, we mananged to take down countless gy spanws while we waiting down below, that in the end they cave up, usualy 3 or 4 hordes spanwd, but we pwned them time after time, why? well one thing is that we both knew how to deal with each dif class, 2 both well pvp equip (IMO one of the top 3 MS warrior on server aswell, I really admire his playing and look forward in builinding my warrior with his advise once I hit rank 10 with my pala) and also I think that if you just have the right gear for pvp'ing for warrior its a nice slow weapon etc like a Reaper, and lots of AP you are gonna have the edge, im also tired of ppl saying it has nothing to do with Epics, its all skill, I say bs, put a green/blue vs a epic of same class, I think we all know who's gonna win, its all about gear mostly and class, some classes simply have the ability to do better in short term fighting, and that matters in cases like in AB where the looser falls and the winner takes the flags,= they win the fight, games like counter strike or Unreal turnamtnet thats games where skill is what counts, you start of in most cases with evenly good weapons, and its about how well you move, aim, know when to hold, and when to go, able to do tactical moves, etc, Warcraft is all about gear really, a Imperial plate warrior will never beat the Random items bwl/mc/zg warrior no way, and this is what happens in bg ppl from top guilds come in bg and gank the crap out of ppl that just turend 60 and are trying to have fun but with all the losses they simply wont rank and makin it pointless to go on
Well, I actually did some dueling today, outside of IF (y'know, where all the true hard-core PvPers go to put their skills to the ultimate test :P ) Which I almost never do. I actually surprised myself. I dueled a 60 NE Rogue with all Superiors, and me with my Ice Barbed Spear, Sergeants Cape, and Stormpike Girdle. I got him down to less than 1/4 of his life when he beat me, and he used poisons too. Oh, and I didn't bubble-up once, I hate having to use it because I relise how cheap it is lol.
Then this 60 Human Warrior with all epics challenged me, got him down to half before he nixed me. And I beat this 60 Hunter twice, according to him, the first time I beat him he had Aspect of the Cheetah on the whole time and didn't relise it (??) and the other time it was because my Hammer of Justice (Pally stun) lasted for "Like 10 seconds lol" when it only lasts a max of 6 seconds. Odd, but the third time I dueled him he finally beat me. He was happy

for me its constant pvp'ing more or less I go outside IF when im in queue and sit there, late at night mostly the hardcore's are only online so we have some nice duels at stuff out there, rogue imo are no match for a pali after 1.9 specaily dwarf palies, there is no way a rogue can beat me, the only rogue I really dont like fighin is a top notch geared rogue with almust full Bloodfang, and above that, he has that bloody thunderfury, but even with those I get him to 20% or so most of the time, guy is amazing with the stun lock so I wont hit him more then 5 times or so, and it better be SoC's, anyway this guy before he got the mighty thunderfury made a video of his pvp'ing hes pretty awesome, check out his vid at this link, im sure he dosent mind he can always kill me in duels if he finds out
I agree with the post you read about him saying gear determines who wins. Its true. If its melee vs melee whoever has the better weapon wins. Whoever has the most hp wins. With mana users Shadow priests have more dmg reduction that plate wariros so try to not brag about priests they beat everything. The gear aspect of pvp is the determining factor whether you are skilled or not. Every rogue can cheap shot ss ss ss and then eviscerate maybe gouge once or twice. what determines who lives and who dies is whoever hits harder. Thats just the way it is. Same with warriors. Whoever hits harders is going to have more rage and be able to do more abilties. Just the way it goes.
Oh and mana draining hunters is just plain dumb. Hunters have autoshot which takes no mana and still hits you very hard and crits very hard. Mana using shots are just bonuses. Everyone pretty much uses standard tactics in a fight so the only thing that is going to say who wins and loses is the gear. Almost common sense. sometimes people get lucky, sometimes, but most of the time if u see somoene epiced out u are going to die.
heh.. doesnt power word shield block those debuffs?
as for rogues.. I guess since you're horde you dont have to deal with undead rogue... they basically get 2 chances to break fear.. 1 from racial... 1 from trinket..
Anyway, I started a Dwarf Warrior a few days ago on the (fairly) new PVE server Rexxar, he's pretty awesome so far, although I don't have my 57 Pally to back him up with money lol (I don't twink FYI, just to learn professions and help pay for abilities early-on) So I had to learn mining and skinning, and I'm glad I did. Starting to get some decent pocket change.
I would have moved my Pally over to Rexxar (from Windrunner) but buy the time I had decided I wanted to move him, Blizz had closed the character transfers early >_< Meh, whatever. Guess I'll just have to wait 9 months for the next round of Windrunner transfers
