What do you mean by 'too general', though? It is not as if Philosophical talk in there is swallowed up by discussion of other subjects. The GDF is the place for mature, sensible discussions- why seperate one such thing out of it?

Well I, for one, am glad that the forum seems to have grown out of that thinking. Pitty it hasn't grown rar enough out of it for Raz to let us have a philosophy forum.

see... I'm not sure about dexx so I'll take me as example...
when I registered, you had Welcome, Q&A, GDF, two or three movie sections, the normal (minus Ep III) star wars sections (plus humor and trivia) and I think that was about it.
In those days when you wanted to talk about a book, you just HAD to post it in the GDF, there was no ROOM somewhere else.
and since everyone is about "when I first joined it was so much better" they want to change as little as possible, so they want stuff BACK to the GDF instead of making more sections
But then again, I challange anyone to explain, in detail, why this should stop me from having a valid opinion on how many forums we should have.

it was to show that you as someone who has been here for 4 mounths has a different opinion than someone who has been here for longer than a year, and see the GDF differently
But when I first came here, I had to dig through art threads to find threads on anime and manga; that was annoying. Now, I can just go to the anime forum, and it is good. By adding that forum, things were made easier at no discernable loss, and I didn't see anyone line up to announce that there was already a forum to discuss anime in. I don't see why this should be any different.

well, when you ask me, I don't see the use of making a seperate forum about it, I think that most threads are created cause now the room is given to it, but before there was a forum there were no threads clogging up another forum
yeah...there were fewer sections...there was the rp section besides what yerrs said, when i joined.....and it was more than ok....not needing to scroll down for every little insignifiant new section (of which there are plenty, nowadays )
guess the member no. huge increase has it's consequences....increase due to the otf.....biggest mistake ever...oh well.
a philosophy discussion simply blends into the gdf....it has to host something.....
