Xavier is a bit weird. She talked back to you, but you never really came across as friendly.

I'm dead serious, though. My closest friends I all met on accident, and everyone else through them stick out tongue

Work friends are about the only exception to that, because it was a case of "get along with them or be miserable at an otherwise decent job" laughing out loud

I'll give an example of how things might have steered differently.

When she said that she recalled having heard offers like that before...

... it didn't occur to anyone to ask "Where?"

It's kinda ironic that I was actually so blinded by the very thing they find weak about us. I wanted to talk to her without the group at all cost. Pretty funny if it wasn't so sad.
