Cyclops is at athletic human condition and reflexes, logan is peak human condition and inhanced(near super) human reflexes.

This means that logan can move his limbs faster than cyclops can see or hope to dodge.

At close distance, logan can dodge the optic nerve blast cause it is not spread so far, it spread as it goes out, which means logan only has alittle area to worry about being hit cause the bean isn't that big.

Cyclops prepares to blast, logan is a 3 steps ahead of him, he fakes, cyclops lets loose at full power, logan comes in doging to blast and "Raagrrrrh!".

Usually when wolverine looses to someone like cyclops its because of stupidass circumstances and lack of his powers, alternate version(weaker version of himself like that damn weakass ultimat wolverine) or its because of him not having his mind in control like when he was being mind controled and he got his ass kicked.

REgular wolverine would've won.

In a straight up match with no overwhelming bullshit circumstances(product of bad writing) against wolverine, he'd mop the floor with cyclops in less than 5 seconds.

The occular cavity does not open up diectly to the brian. The Sphenoid is in the way of "just shoot him in the eye."
