I heard Cato originally.
OOooooo and it appears Fisher has opted out into free agency. Looks like someone's not too happy about GP staying...

The trade was Francis, Mobley, Cato, and Nachbar for T-Mac, Howard, and Lue originally, but like I said before, it might not happen now that Francis says he won't play for Orlando.

He loves Houston, but he also doesn't want to be in Orlando if he is traded. He doesn't want to go somewhere in a rebuilding process. Kind of like when he demanded a trade from the Grizzlies.

i was watching espn and the so called "insiders" were saying that this trade is pretty much up to mcgrady and if its gonna happen its gonna take at least 3-4 days whether francis wants to play in orlando or not

Francis doesn't have as much say as McGrady because McGrady can refuse to sign next year while Francis will be stuck. He can complain all he wants, but he is stuck in contract so he can't just leave after a year as a protest (which McGrady can if he wants). Orlando may back down now, but maybe not either.
Anyway, looks like the Mavs and Wiz's have made a trade. Not all the player's names involved have been released but for the most part it is Jamison to the Wizards for the #5 pick, Stackhouse, and Laettner.

That was retarded. they need someone who can play inside, Jamison was it. and Walker. Laettner just stands at the foul line and shoots(at least from what i remember from watching him)

Yes, defense is definitly what they need. they can score 150 points a game, but if they don't play defense, so will the other team

I believe the #5 pick was their main goal in the trade. Stackhouse is a good addition considering he wasn't even the focal point of the trade, they just needed his salary to make the trade work.

i dont thin he's a good addition at all...you just picked up another scorer who shoots the ball too much when he needs defense...i bet he's not gonna trade him either..he needs to trade him and get more players like najerea (i cant spell it) i think the dallas run and gun has proved it doesnt work in the west but heres cuban still gettin more firepower for offense leaving his whole team hangin on the defense of end

totally agree with you WuTa. Najera is the only defensive player on that team and he'd probably be one of the top 3 defenders in the league if he was a couple of inches taller. He's only 6'9 and he battles with Duncan and Garnett regularly. Too bad his offense is about as potent as Mark Madsen's

I agree that Stackhouse should be traded for defense. They don't need him. But the trade still is good in my mind because of the #5 pick. Then they can see how Stackhouse fits (probably won't) then trade him if needed.

Or how about this. The Mavericks do plan on trading Stack. Either in the Shaq trade or to NY for Kurt Thomas.

The trade went through now. I thought Orlando was going to take Howard. Like I said, he seemed better than expected during practices so they were sure he wouldn't be a complete flop plus he has more potential. I was also right about Ben Gordon going top 5. But damn damn damn, why did the Blazers take Telfair at #13. They better be right but he is overrated because of his relationship to Marbury and his streetball ways. Plus he is 5'11", we don't need 2 guys on a team under 6'.
