I did not want to return to this thread but here goes.well for me it was a lot more than just the organics that ruined the movie,it had a horrible script that looked like it was written by a 5 year old.

well parker you must realise it was a teenager movie, in order to make money thats why they didnt care for us,and made some changes so "normal" people could understand and see, cos think about everyone would just laugh out loud if they aproach with the radioactive spider, it would look like those trash movie in the ealier 80s then heŽd be called man spider.if u come to say "but they used the radioactive spider on the CARTOON<<<<<<" it already answered it is a cartoon , made to kids, if they please older ppl ,fine but they are target to kids

Normal people? If you're going to "attempt" to belittle others, don't beat around the bush. BTW, I haven't been a teenager for 11 years now.

Actually, I didn't care for the "genetic super spider" angle. WTF would anyone be creating a super spider for??? Let's send the flight suit, glider and super spiders to Iraq to fight for us, laughing out loud roll eyes (sarcastic) I see nothing funny about the radioactive spider concept and I think that's what they should have used. Hell, it seems to be the going origin theme with Marvel anyway right? Radioactive waste, radioactive spiders, gamma rays, it's all the same.

I'm not sure I follow what you're trying to say about the radioactive spider then people calling him man spider. That makes no sense because it's Peter's real origin and "normal" people would be able to grasp the concept anyway. Target kids huh? I'm not sure of your age but teenagers nowadays are very mature and love the adult themes. It's Spider-Man, he used to appear on Sesame Street laughing Webhead is an iconic character like Batman and they're not going to tarnish that image.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think Spider-man was the perfect movie but it wasn't horrible.

The lunchroom scene was decent but the fight in the hallway was over the top. It may have been more believable if Peter didn't cut that huge backflip. I can't see them making a Spider-Man movie outside of the teenage realm because he's such a clean family fun oriented character. He has some dark moments in the comic books but on the grand scale, he's just a boyscout.

I think most people know the origin of Spider-Man and I don't think it would freak them out enough to call him a monster or "Man Spider"

What's the difference between Spider-man and Man-Spider?

IMO, the web-shooters would have been cool, but organic is easier to have for the movies and also works well with the plot of the second one. Like said before, they change stuff all the time in the movies. Like in the X-Men movies, they totally changed the X-Men team and some of the powers. They also changed the way stuff happens (like with the Phoenix). They do what works best for the big-screen.

Okay since someone chose to resurrect this thread I will explain it to you.The difference is Spider-Man is a guy with mechanical devices on his wrists who CREATED chemical webbing.MAN-SPIDER is a term for being a monster. In the 90's toon he drank a potion and transformed into a 8 legged 6 armed hairly monster.Well even thats not who you saw in the films he is still a MAN-SPIDER because he is a damn monster now because sony made him into a monster by having webs shoot out of his body which is plain gross and disgusting,so the character we were really exposed to on the screen was MAN-SPIDER not spider-man. mad and people here just cant comprehend that they saw the character of manspider on the screen. roll eyes (sarcastic)
