Not sure whether you want to call this news or not:

You've got to give Tom Arnold props for consistency on his "True Lies 2" stories, though this time it sounds more reliable. Talking with Star Mag during "Happy Endings" promotions, the actor said "We all caught up - Jim [Cameron], Jamie [Lee Curtis], Eliza [Dushku], Bill [Paxton] and myself - to talk about True Lies 2 about a month ago in Cali. We're doing it. Definitely doing it. I'm revved. Unlike Terminator, which I think they're doing without Arnold, Jim's prepared to wait for the big guy. So am I. I've been waiting for ten years now - I'm sure I can hang on a few more months".

Hello 'I'm Back'

This is my first post in weeks!

Yeah I'm all for True Lies 2. I'm sure it will be great! But I'm more concerned for T4. True Lies seems to be in good hands (i.e. Cameron) but what is going in with T4? That's what keeping me from going to sleep at night. Aahhh....

True lies is one of Arnold's best movies. If this is real, and you never eally know, then I am happy. Only because Cameron is signed on. I wonder why he would do this and allow someone else to fiddle with his terminators? Oh well, what's done is done. Anrold need to go out with an amazing film, and Cameron + the whole True Lies crew can do it!

Ive only read a little of this thread but...

I hope Arnold can be in T4, it will feel wierd without him. I think it'll be good still, but it will be better with him. And Roland Kickinger looks jts like him. I wish they could get him.

It will be difficult to find a feasable place for Arnold, and I hope they don't resort to some halfwit idea just for the sake of having him in there. Thats totally the wrong approach.

True Lies is one of my least favorite Arnold movies. It's okay but I've never had the desire to really see it more then twice.

With the success of "Mr. & Mrs. Smith," Regency's biggest bet to date, the company is looking for other big-budget projects. Milchan said there are two or three about to be greenlit. Three such projects are sequels to "True Lies" and "Commando" both starring Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and "Mr. & Mrs. Smith 2" with Pitt and Angelina.

"True Lies 2" is being developed by James Cameron and his Lightstorm Entertainment with Fox once again distributing the pic. Regency might help fund the film if it becomes too expensive. "True Lies" is a viable franchise much like "Mission:Impossible" and "James Bond". Especially with a huge mega star and mega director.

"True Lies" grossed almost 400 million worldwide back in 1994 and the film has grown a huge audience over the past decade. With all the key players clearing their schedules and the same director coming back, the sequel has become a major tentpole franchise."

"Commando" has become a fan based movie property which makes it a brand name movie now (see commandofans.com) for fan base. In a Maxium Magazine poll done months ago, readers where asked to vote between John Matrix and John Rambo. "Commando" was voted over an iconic character like "Rambo". "If that doesn't reveal how big a fan base "Commando" has gotten over the decades then it should show the popularity of the film."

Further more, it is one of the only R rated action films that spawned successful merchandise back in the 80's and if the upcoming Special Edition sells really well, that would mean there is demand that people love and want to see the governor make "Commando 2". Fox did the first pic with producer Joel Silver but Milchan might step up to finance the big budget sequel.

Personally, I don't really think the "Mr & Mrs Smith 2" will be any good. the 1st one was ok, with some nice one-liners, but overall it wasn't that good. Maybe this was because I was "Batman Begins" a week before hehe, which I still label as my favourite movie of all-time, alongside "Terminator 2" and "The Shawshank Redemption".

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger confirmed an open secret Friday, telling supporters that he's running for re-election next year an early announcement designed to re-energize his sagging political momentum.

"I'm going to follow through with this here. I'm not in there for three years. I originally got into this … to finish the job. I'm in there for seven years," he told an enthusiastic crowd of about 200 invited guests. "Yes, I will run for governor."

With his recent polls showing only 36 percent of Californian's rating his performance as positive, many believe Arnold has no chance.

Tom Arnold from from the message boards writes:

"He's not going to win again and he knows it. but I admit it's a smart move to pretend like he will run again. That way he can show people he is trying and not backing out. Ah, a true politician with a great political mind!" Smart move Arnold. Yeah, I know you really want to win that second term, "wink, wink!" I smell True Lies 2 coming within a year and a half. TRUST ME!"

And HERE IS a really cool Terminator 4 fan-made trailer from Maurice Huijs. Hit the link to download. Just right click on target, save target as then save. Its a whopping 36 MB but its worth it.

Terminator 4 news!! eek!

Sci Fi Wire

Terminator Will Be Back

Creature-effects supervisor John Rosengrant of Stan Winston Studios confirmed to SCI FI Wire that he has met with director Jonathan Mostow recently about the possibility of a new Terminator movie, but nothing is a go yet. "It's too early to figure out what a new Terminator would look like, or anything like that," said Rosengrant, who was the creature-effects supervisor on the upcoming film Doom, starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

In the first three Terminator films, Arnold Schwarzenegger, now governor of California, starred as a robot from the future. The original 1984 film was one of the first projects for special-effects designer Stan Winston, whose studio created the effects for such films as Aliens and Jurassic Park, as well as the two Terminator sequels.

Rosengrant said it is too early to figure out what a new robot from the future would look like if the franchise were to continue. "You usually don't do that kind of thing," Rosengrant said about designing a new Terminator. "You see the script and what spark comes from that, [talk] with the director and see what the vision is. It does no good to dream it up unless you write a treatment and try to get out there and sell it yourself."

Mostow, who directed Terminator 3: The Rise of the Machines, has said he was interested in a fourth Terminator film and commissioned a story written by Terminator 3 screenwriters John D. Brancato and Michael Ferris. Nick Stahl, who starred as John Connor in the third film, is signed for two more sequels.

"I know Jonathan Mostow said he had a script idea for it, and I did talk to him, and he did say that, but I don't know," Rosengrant said. "I keep hearing that there's going to be a Terminator 4. That's all it's been, just rumblings."

They definitely should make a T4. They need to finish the storyline off properly.

Let the human resitance defeat the terminators, then cut forward a few years as they reconstruct earth...

I think they should quit while they're behind. T3 was a cool idea but unnecessary and they messed it all up. Without Arnold and without Cameron, I don't want T4. So far the only suggestion I've seen that I like is that an idea was floating around that Michael Biehn would play John Connor in the future. I like that....but I don't want T4 if we've got Mostow and no Arnold.

Beihn would look strange though, he is much much older than what he was during T1's shooting.

How could they make that look realistic without a serious make-up job !
