People say hes over rated but seeing The Machinist, The Prestige and even Harsh Times (when his acting is at times a bit iffy in HT) you cant say a bad word about him, and the presence he has on screen
yeah I agree it DOES take balls to do something like that and lose that much weight.they guy is an amazing actor.he is the one and ONLY true Batman brought to life on the silver screen.

I thought his acting was great in Harsh Times. It's just that it's weird hearing him speak 'ghetto slang', while he many people have an image made up in their minds of him being a very sophisticated man.

The story keeps getting disturbing. Alledgly his mother show up all drunk and abusive and he had her removed...that's when the sister jump in. That's what the press said so far. Gosh, this is just sad.
Sounds like there was mitigating circumstances, if his mother was drunk & abusive toward him; I hope so, and this story is getting blown out of proportion. He's never been known for this behaviour.

Yeah, this story seems very odd. There's definitely something going on that hasn't been revealed yet. No way I'm passing judgement on Bale until the whole truth comes out.

They probably demanded some cash since TDK is breaking records, Bale still high off of playing such a badass probably gave them a Bat-chop or two and now they're flinging shit around hoping he'll bat-cave in and drop a few quid their way.
Just because Ledger got to act outrageous and be crazy, and Bale had to be tightly controlled of his emotions, doesn't mean Ledger out performed him. It's not Bale's job to match what Ledger's doing; they each had a very different character to play.
Bale is right up there with Daniel Day-Lewis as a method actor, with what he puts his body & mind through to get a part right.
