I seriously doubt Sidious is as old as Yoda....
But i do think that something triggers Yoda's
memory about the Sith Lord and he is aware
that things are in motion that he can not stop;
so he begins to plan for what is about to happen.....
I doubt that it is coincidence that Padme is able to
hide Leia away at the last second from Anakin/Palpatine;
and the same with Ben and Luke....
