Many, many people root for LOTR only because it just came out... and Orlando Girly Boy starred in it. Others back it with valid reasoning, but ST-OT wins by far.
Yeah sorry we don't have a director (George Lucus)who doesn't want to admit that his movies are as much the right as the people who made him famous as his and change the original movie for the sake that he can............yeah that not a valid reason.....sure Star Wars the original were great but not better then the Lord Of the rings.

If we are comparing the recent Star Wars changes to LOTR then no doubt LOTR wins by a landslide. I'm one of those that isn't too thrill about the changes.
Star Wars is more exciting. Lord Of The Rings are classics, but they do bore me sometimes. You have to be in the mood to watch'em, you also need to set aside a whole afternoon just to watch'em too.
Star Wars never gets old, I can watch it any time.
star wars storyline=better. star wars= many ties and twists with vader and the empire with cool kick ass warrioirs called jedi knights with laser swords and the power to manipulate anything.=awesome.
LOTR=boring storyine that has to many subplots.-lets throw a ring, that somehow equals great power, into a volcano. boring steel swords and overused weapons. really boring characters. also, it seems like every movie was the same thing: long, boring and filled with stupid wars between those orc things.i mean the SE was good but thats it. still have yet to read the books but im sure that theyre much better.

Okay, you don't like LOTR..that's fine. But Boring steel swords? and stupid wars between orc things? Come on! That's weak! Both SW and LOTR had great battles sequences. Heck you do know that it is harder to kill the enemy with a steel sword than with a blaster. The good guys had a tougher time beating the bad guys in LOTR than in SW.
Yes it's right sword is harder then blasters.i mean I like the battles in LOTR it's cooler and it's more exciting then the SW series.I mean in the new movies there were just too much stupid talk I mean I love the plot but SW c'mon against LOTR Aragorn would kick Han solo @$$.
Hey Everyone, Here are my opinions. When it comes down to it SW is a much better film the LOTR. the reason why is because its easier to follow. many posts have been made saying how there are so many characters in LOTR. Thats why its better for a book. In a movie nobody is honestly paying attention to who everyone is, especially in LOTR. Its and action film. People either went to see it cause it looked really cool, or cause they knew and read the books. most of my friends who read the books were disipointed. Now SW on the other hand is a good film but in my opinions it doesn't work in book form. I cant sit down and read a SW book. I dont know why its just bores me. i thinks its because i wanna see people fighting and lasers flying. i do give credit to anyone who worked on LOTR though because it was amazing but no where compares to SW.
Lets just wait for the "Aragorn could deflect Han's shots with his sword" retarded arguement.
Sword vs gun? Go watch Indiana Jones.
It would be fairer to pair up Legolas against Han, and Luke Skywalker against Aragorn, and Chewbacca against Gimli or something.
Han would park the Falcon on Legolas' head while Luke stops all the attacks with his mind, even if Legolas did shoot Han dead, Luke would wipe the floor with him and Aragorn blindfolded, and in the background Chewbacca feasts on Gimlis remains.
Darth Vader would take Saruman down no problem. Choke, zwoosh, head on floor. Magic can't stop the force.
The Emperor'd press his big red button and fire the Death Star at Middle Earth anyway.
yeah, i dont think there is any reason to pit the characters from these movies together in a face off. While Gandolf is doing some magic tricks, Luke would have caved his brain in. Light sabers and the force, nothing more needs to be said.
