Matt jumped on the figure who went down immediately.Lainie saw the knife fly out of his hand somewhere into the darkness.
"RUN GODDAMNIT!RUN!" he yelled at Lainie and his girlfriend Savannah.
The last thing Lainie saw as she ran out of the room with Savannah was the figure grabbing the knife,knocking Matt down,and bringing down the knife.

Lainie tried to run, but fell down as she got out the door. She looked at the bloody mess that was her leg. Then, as if she had come out of her state of shock, Savannah helped her up and practically drug her down the hallway. The loss of blood from her wound was starting to get to Lainie and her vision started to blurr. "Savannah? Matt? Oh my god, Matt! Savannah, we have to go back!" Her friend didn't answer, instead, she kept leading her down the hallway. Lainie took one last look at the door, behind which Matt and the killer was, before she lost conciousness.

While Lainie had been searching for Matt,he was fighting for his life in the dark.
He tried to keep away the killer's hand which held the bloody knife that had already stabbed Matt 3 times.
"Is-that-all-you've-got-you-****!" Matt said through strained breathing.
He made a swift move and was able to escape the room.
he came out of the room and saw Savannah and an unconcious Lainie.Matt and Savannah grabbed Lainie and started to make their escape.
"C'MON!HURRY!HE'S COMING!" yelled Matt.
Just then,the door broke down and the killer started to advance on them wiping the blood off of his knife.

They were almost to the door.That would lead to the others,and to safety(Matt hoped).
He saw Savannah starting to slip into unconsciousness too.
"NO!Savannah,c'mon,don't go on me!" said Matt in panic.
Matt still ran,although his tux for the prom were barely covering the gashes made by the killer.he was bleeding profusely.
the killer came up behind them,but Matt pushed the girls through the door and shut it.Leaving him and the killer in darkness.

Lainie slowly started to open her eyes. Savannah was in the corner opposite of her in a ball. The smell of cleaner exploded into her face. She didn't speak, but lied there, her leg bleeding and in pain. A cloud of unconsciousness hovered over her and it seemed she had be taken to another dimension. The sounds of struggle on the other side of the door meant nothing to her. Instead, she stared up into the darkness of the closet, her breathing getting lighter. She laid there and thought. She thought about her family, her friends, her hopes and ambitions...and strangely, she thought nothing of the horror that was going on all around her. Deep down she knew these would be her last thoughts, and wanted them to be nothing but peaceful. She closed her eyes and thought of all the great times she shared with her family, Savannah, and...Matt. Matt, fighting for his life on the other side of the door. Matt, who risked his life to saves hers. She couldn't let him die now, and she certainly wasn't gonna let him loose his life over a lost cause. Suddenly she opened her eyes. "No," she whispered to herself. "Not yet." She used a shelf to pull herself up. Her leg ached with pain, but she wasn't going to give in. She felt around for something hard, something sharp. Finally, she found what she had been looking for. She didn't know what it was, but it felt perfect. She turned towards the door and reached for the handle. As her quivering hand touched the brass, the other side of the door fell deadly silent...

Just before Lainie opened the door,Matt threw himself in.he was a bloody mess,but apparently,he had only been hit in non-vital spots.
"God damnit..." muttered Matt,who was sprawled out.
Before Lainie could answer,a knife was shoved through the door.

Lainie screamed and dropped what she was holding. The surprise of it made her loose her balance on her good leg and she fell back against the shelves. Numerous items fell atop her. The door handle started to jiggle and the knife continued to plunged through the door. Laine felt around for the her "weapon". Unable to locate it among the rumble, she let out a pitiful whimper. "Matt..." Matt was in the corner, checking to see if Savannah was okay. "Matt, I can't find it." "Find what?" he said. He had no idea what she was looking for. He stood up. "There has to be a light in here," he said as he felt around for a switch or chain. Finally he found a switch between the wall and a shelf. He flipped it light illuminated the tiny closet. Lainie winced as her eyes strained to adjust to the sudden change. She held her hand up, shading her eyes. Matt started to rummage through the mess, probably looking for some mean of protection. Lainie looked at Savannah, who just stared back with an empty gaze. She started to think about everything her best friend had gone through that night, then remembered how she kept running when Lainie fell down hurt. She couldn't look at her friend any longer. Instead, she stared at the knife, going in and out of the door. She knew it wouldn't be long before he got inside. She quickly looked around the room. The chance of escaping this psycho seemed non-existent. Then, just as she had given up all hope, she looked up regained her faith. "Matt...look..." she said as the pointed towards the ceiling. Above them was a pull-down ladder leading to a small ceiling door, just big enough for them to fit through and, hopefully, a way out of this nightmare.
