I am not really a fan of outlaw star. I saw a bit of it and I didn't really enjoy it.
I think that Chobits is very good too. I would rather read it though.

My favorite anime by far is Hikaru no Go. Character development, music, drama, comedy, it has it all. Even teaches you about a game people actually play unlike Pokemon or Yuugioh where they create a game so they can sell it and make a ton of money.
